Creating a platform to drive digital transformation in businesses.

Digital transformation helps businesses innovate their thinking, adapt flexibly, and leverage data from AI, Big Data, etc., to optimize processes and increase competitiveness. However, in reality, many businesses still face difficulties ranging from lack of resources, weak infrastructure, fragmented data, to limited digital personnel, thus preventing them from achieving a comprehensive and effective transformation.

Facing obstacles, businesses are unable to achieve breakthroughs.

According to the National Digital Transformation Agency ( Ministry of Science and Technology ), as of October 2025, Vietnam will have approximately 75,000 digital technology enterprises; 92% of enterprises have started applying digital technology, and over 50% maintain its use after the trial period. Many Vietnamese enterprises are proactively investing in AI, cloud computing, blockchain, and automation, thereby enhancing technological capabilities, improving operational efficiency, and expanding business opportunities. However, the level of digital transformation is still uneven across different groups of enterprises and industries, with many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) still facing difficulties and lacking access to suitable solutions for breakthroughs.

As an information technology company, Misa Corporation has partnered with businesses and technology experts in Vietnam to anticipate technological trends, seize opportunities, and develop comprehensive AI-integrated digital transformation products and services to provide maximum support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam. The company has also deployed an AI Agent platform to create specialized assistants, automate tasks, and improve productivity.

Based on her experience in implementing digital transformation for over 350,000 businesses across all sectors, Ms. Pham Thi Tuyen, Director of Misa's Enterprise Solutions Business Center, noted that the biggest obstacle in digital transformation today is the use of many disjointed solutions by businesses, leading to fragmented data; some solutions are only suitable for certain stages, making it difficult to inherit data when replaced. In addition, high costs make it difficult for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to access enterprise resource planning systems, and many businesses struggle to obtain loans due to a lack of collateral or failure to meet financial data requirements.

In reality, digital transformation is determining the survival and sustainable development of businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Although the Government has issued the National Digital Transformation Program with the goal of the digital economy reaching 20% of GDP by 2025 and 30% by 2030, the reality shows that the level of digital transformation in businesses remains limited.

A nationwide survey conducted by the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises and the Department of Digital Economy and Society, Ministry of Science and Technology, from May 15th to June 9th, 2025, revealed that: 69% of new businesses are only at the basic application level, such as email and accounting software; 16% have implemented ERP, CRM, and IoT technologies at an average level; 10% have fully digitized and integrated AI; and 5% have not yet started. This result reflects that the majority of new businesses are in the process of accessing tools, and the rate of applying integrated systems, data exploitation, and advanced technologies remains low, requiring stronger support policies to promote genuine digital transformation.

According to Ms. Mai Thi Thanh Oanh, Deputy General Director of Coc Coc Limited Company, the biggest challenge for domestic research units is probably still resources, both financially, in terms of high-quality human resources, and the supporting ecosystem. Developing and operating core technology products requires long-term investment, but not every business has the "endurance" to pursue it to the end.

Creating an ecosystem to promote digital transformation.

Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo identifies national digital transformation as one of the three important breakthroughs. Based on this orientation, digital transformation is not only a technological trend but has become a vital condition for businesses to enhance their competitiveness in the digital economy era.

To promote digital transformation in businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), representatives from the National Digital Transformation Agency (Ministry of Science and Technology) stated that the agency will develop a Digital Transformation Project for Businesses for the period 2026-2030, focusing on supporting SMEs, cooperatives, and household businesses. The project aims to create an innovation ecosystem, promote widespread digital transformation across industries and sectors, thereby enhancing competitiveness and the ability to participate in global value chains. Simultaneously, it aims to help businesses achieve substantive and effective digital transformation, striving to increase labor productivity by at least 15% in digitized processes.

To enable businesses to thrive in the digital age, many business leaders believe that the government and relevant ministries and agencies need more policies to promote digital transformation and the application of AI to increase productivity and keep pace with new trends. In addition, supporting agencies should promote communication to create momentum for Make in Vietnam platforms to contribute more strongly to the national digital transformation process. For example, to accelerate digital transformation, Misa is focusing on strongly implementing an Agentic AI approach, specifically Agentic Enterprise – a 24/7 self-operating business that builds solutions capable of automating tasks, providing intelligent suggestions, and supporting users in making quick decisions.

According to experts, businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), need to undergo digital transformation step by step, in accordance with their capabilities, prioritizing the digitization of core operations, building a roadmap with clear KPIs, and investing in digital skills training. They should also proactively seek support from the government and technology partners. Regulatory agencies should promptly finalize the legal framework for data protection and information security; develop a national digital transformation support fund with preferential loan packages; and promote digital workforce training and build a supporting ecosystem along with a set of digital service standards.

With government support, proactive businesses, and a developed technology ecosystem, digital transformation will become a crucial driving force for enhancing the productivity, competitiveness, and sustainability of Vietnamese businesses in the digital age.
