On the afternoon of October 25, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Anthony Capuano - President and CEO of Marriott Group, USA, according to the Government Electronic Information Portal.
At the reception, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh congratulated and highly appreciated the successes of Marriott Group in developing luxury resort hotel chains in the world as well as in Vietnam.
The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always considers the US one of its top important partners and wishes to continue developing relations with the US in a sustainable, effective and trustworthy manner, in which economic, trade, investment and financial cooperation are identified as the main pillars and driving forces to promote bilateral relations.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vietnam advocates rapid and sustainable tourism development, considering it an important economic sector contributing to the economic development of the country in general and localities in particular; at the same time, creating the most favorable conditions for investors in the spirit of harmonious benefits and shared risks.
To further strengthen cooperation in the coming time, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that Marriott Group continue to implement plans to expand investment in the tourism, hotel and resort services sectors with large-scale projects suitable to Vietnam's conditions and attracting international tourists; cooperate in training and developing high-quality human resources that meet international standards; connect Vietnam's tourism with the region and the world, diversify tourism products and supply chains, improve management capacity in the tourism industry; support and accompany Vietnam in recovering and developing the tourism and air transport sectors in the coming time...
For his part, Mr. Anthony Capuano informed about Marriott Group's operations in Vietnam.
Accordingly, in Vietnam, Marriott is managing 16 hotels and resorts under 8 global brands such as JW Marriott, Le Meridien, Sheraton... In the coming time, Marriott plans to expand its investment and business activities in Vietnam, aiming to open 20 more hotels and resorts in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Phu Quoc...
He highly appreciated Vietnam's potential and advantages in tourism development with natural conditions, geographical location, many beautiful landscapes and unique culture, friendly and hospitable people, attractive and rich cuisine... more and more tourists want to return to Vietnam.
He pledged that the group will continue to expand investment and long-term development in Vietnam, continue to convey the story of Vietnam, promote the image of Vietnam to attract more international tourists to Vietnam, contribute to promoting Vietnam's tourism industry, as well as promote cooperation in the areas that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has commented on.
