On May 29, within the framework of the plan to attack and suppress smuggling and illegal cross-border transportation crimes and handle counterfeit and poor quality goods, the Anti-Smuggling Investigation Department (Customs Department) discovered and arrested a case of illegal transportation of a large quantity of liquid suspected to be DO oil in Ninh Thuan waters.

Specifically, at 10:30 a.m. at coordinates 11017'N, 109002'E, Team 2, Anti-smuggling Investigation Department in coordination with the Crime and Violation Prevention Department - Coast Guard Region 3 Command inspected the fishing vessel with registration number TH-91658-TS, owned by Mr. Le Van Dung.
Through inspection, authorities discovered about 75 cubic meters of liquid suspected to be DO oil contained in two cargo holds in front of the cabin.
The case is currently being investigated and handled by the Customs Department according to regulations (Photo: Customs Department).
The captain admitted that all of the above goods did not have legal invoices or documents. The estimated value of the illegal shipment was about 1.3 billion VND.
The case is being further investigated and handled by the Customs authorities in accordance with the law.
