Vesak 2025 will take place from May 6 to 8 at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy (HCMC). This is the fourth time the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha has hosted the United Nations Vesak. In 2025, the Vesak celebration will take place with the main theme: "Solidarity and tolerance for human dignity: Buddhist wisdom for world peace and sustainable development".
Ba Den Mountain ( Tay Ninh province) was chosen as the place to enshrine the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni.
The official opening ceremony on May 6 and closing on May 8, with the participation of more than 2,700 delegates, including 1,250 delegates from 85 countries and territories. This is an extremely meaningful international cultural diplomatic event of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and the country in 2025; an opportunity to introduce the image of the country and people of Vietnam who love peace , friendliness, solidarity and harmony; for international friends to witness Ho Chi Minh City as dynamic, creative, prosperous and thriving after 50 years of national reunification; Vietnam integrating, developing and reaching out to the world in the new era.
Within the framework of the Buddha's Birthday, Ba Den Mountain (Tay Ninh Province) was chosen as the place to enshrine the relics of Buddha Shakyamuni, from May 8 to 13, on the first floor of the Buddhist Exhibition Center (Ba Den Mountain peak), creating conditions for Buddhists and tourists to worship and pay homage. Along with this event are many meaningful activities such as: the ceremony of planting 108 Bodhi trees originating from India; lighting 50,000 candles to pray for world peace at the square at the top of Ba Den Mountain...
Up to now, the organization of welcoming and guiding the delegation of the Vesak Festival to visit and operate in Tay Ninh has been ensured to be solemn and thoughtful. In which, the stages of preparing facilities, logistics... to the sideline activities of the Festival according to the program.
The Organizing Committee also coordinated with relevant units to ensure security, safety and convenient traffic during the delegation's visit to Tay Ninh, especially at the area where the Buddha's relics were carried on the top of Ba Den Mountain. This is also an opportunity to promote the image and tourism potential of Tay Ninh province, contributing to attracting tourists to Tay Ninh, promoting local economic, cultural and social development.
According to the Organizing Committee of the Great Festival, the worship of Buddha's relics will take place from May 3 to noon on May 8. In the afternoon of the same day, the ceremony to send Buddha's relics to Tay Ninh will be held and enshrined at the top of Ba Den Mountain. The worship schedule will take place from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., from May 9 to 12.
On the morning of May 13, a ceremony was held to send the Buddha's relics to Hanoi and to be enshrined at Quan Su Pagoda (from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., from May 14 to 16).
On the morning of May 17, the Organizing Committee will hold a ceremony to send the Buddha's relics to Tam Chuc Pagoda, where they will be enshrined from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on May 17 to 21.
On the afternoon of May 21, the ceremony to send Buddha's relics to Noi Bai International Airport to return to India.
