The Vietnam Open 2025 badminton tournament will take place from September 9 to 14 at Nguyen Du Club Gymnasium (HCMC). This year's tournament will bring together more than 300 athletes from 23 countries and territories.

This is the playground where Vietnamese badminton hot girl Nguyen Thuy Linh is having a hat-trick of championships for 3 consecutive years in the women's singles event. Recently at the World Badminton Championship held in France, she played excellently and reached the round of 16.

Thanks to that, Thuy Linh has returned to the world's top 20. Specifically, she is currently ranked 18th. With this ranking, it is not surprising that the tennis player from Phu Tho is the number 1 seed and is highly appreciated to continue to win the title on home ground.

However, things will not be easy because this year's Vietnam Open brings together many quality players. Among them is the third seed from India, Tanvi Sharma. Although only ranked 45th in the world, she defeated Thuy Linh at the US Open in June.

Besides, unseeded players from strong badminton backgrounds such as Cai Yan Yan (China), Han Ga Eun, Kim Min Sun (Korea) also have the potential to bring surprises.

The men's singles event promises to be extremely exciting as it brings together many quality players such as Takuma Obayashi (Japan, ranked 45th in the world), Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo (Indonesia, ranked 46th), and Sathish Kumar Karunakaran (India, ranked 49th).

In particular, the name expected to bring a breakthrough is French player Arnaud Merkle. At 25 years old and having joined the badminton world not long ago, he is making rapid progress. This athlete is ranked 6th seed at the Vietnam Open.

Vietnamese tennis player Nguyen Hai Dang is ranked 7th seed in men's singles.

Vietnam Open is a Super 100 level tournament of the Badminton World Federation (BWF), held annually in Ho Chi Minh City.

The tournament has a long tradition, having existed for nearly 20 years. Vietnam has had two players win the championship: Nguyen Tien Minh (men's singles, 4 times) and Nguyen Thuy Linh (women's singles, 3 times).
