Receiving and working with the delegation was Ms. Ta Phuong Dung, Consul General of Vietnam in Laos.

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged many contents to strengthen cooperation and promote the special friendship between Hue city and localities of Laos.

Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Council Nguyen Quang Tuan proposed promoting delegation exchanges and cooperation in developing transport infrastructure, especially upgrading border gates to expand trade and tourism .

The education and training sector is focused on providing full scholarships to Lao students in the fields of tourism, technology, engineering and medicine; at the same time, creating favorable conditions for Lao people to go to Hue for medical examination and treatment. The city also wishes to increase cultural and sports exchanges, organize professional art troupes to perform in Laos at important events, contributing to strengthening the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

Consul General Ta Phuong Dung highly appreciated the initiative and cooperative spirit of Hue city with Lao localities, and suggested that Hue continue to promote its image and tourism-cultural potential, and support business connections between the two sides in the fields of investment, trade and tourism services. She also emphasized the need to strengthen the training of high-quality human resources and maintain a regular coordination mechanism, bringing the cooperative relationship between Hue and Lao localities to develop substantially, effectively and sustainably.

At the meeting, the two sides reviewed the results of cooperation in many fields such as politics, diplomacy, national defense - security, education, health and culture. To date, Hue City has trained more than 1,500 Lao students, including 227 from Sekong province, and supported the construction of a water supply project for the Military Command of the neighboring province.

In the coming time, the two localities agreed to continue to increase delegation exchanges, share experiences in People's Council activities; expand economic, tourism, education and health cooperation; and effectively exploit the East-West economic corridor and Chan May - Lang Co seaport, creating momentum to promote regional development.

On this occasion, the Standing Committee of Hue City People's Council presented the Standing Committee of Sekong Provincial People's Council with an electronic LED screen system, demonstrating the special friendship and solidarity between the two localities of Vietnam and Laos, "forever green, forever sustainable".
