Releasing shrimp and fish fry to regenerate aquatic resources

(QBĐT) - Responding to Vietnam Sea and Islands Week, World Environment Day (June 5) and World Oceans Day (June 8), the Department of Agriculture and Environment and localities in the province organized the release of shrimp and fish fry to regenerate aquatic resources.

* Accordingly, more than 1 million PL30 giant tiger prawns, 2-3cm in size, were released into the Nhat Le estuary (Dong Hoi City). These prawns have been quality tested, quarantined, and guaranteed to be the right size and grow well in the natural environment.

Releasing shrimp seeds is not only a specific action to regenerate aquatic resources but also has the meaning of propaganda, promoting people's awareness of environmental protection and sustainable development of seas and islands.

To join hands in protecting and developing aquatic resources, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has called for the attention and active participation of agencies, unions, authorities at all levels, social organizations, businesses, press agencies and communities to raise awareness and responsibility in protecting and developing aquatic resources.

* At Bau Sen lake area (Sen Thuy commune), Le Thuy district has coordinated with local authorities to release fish fry to restore aquatic resources.

Accordingly, more than 11,100 fish fry, including silver carp, grass carp, common carp... were released into the natural environment to contribute to the restoration, protection and development of local aquatic resources.

This is an activity in response to World Environment Day, World Oceans Day, Vietnam Sea and Islands Week 2025; at the same time, it has practical significance in protecting the ecological environment; raising public awareness of protecting and developing aquatic resources; encouraging people to carry out sustainable fishing practices.

* At Rao Da reservoir (Truong Xuan commune), Quang Ninh district People's Committee released fish fry to regenerate aquatic resources.

More than 25,000 fish fry were released into the wild.

Accordingly, 25,000 fish fry of various types, including: 4,000 grass carp, 8,000 hybrid carp, 7,000 silver carp and 6,000 hybrid catfish were released into Rao Da reservoir to restore aquatic resources. These fish fry are guaranteed to be the right size and have passed quarantine, growing well in the natural environment.

Releasing fish fry to regenerate aquatic resources is a practical activity, demonstrating the responsibility of organizations and individuals to join hands to protect, conserve and regenerate aquatic resources; at the same time, it has the meaning of propagating and mobilizing people to limit negative impacts on nature, changing the environment, affecting the ecosystem, especially the exploitation of aquatic resources by electric pulses, using explosives... causing the decline of aquatic resources.
