Up to now, Thai Nguyen province has more than 8,100 hectares of crops (tea, rice, vegetables, fruit trees) meeting VietGAP standards, of which the majority are tea trees.
In 2025, the Department of Agricultural, Forestry and Fishery Product Quality Management of Thai Nguyen province assessed and granted new VietGAP certificates to 44 tea growing establishments in the province. Regarding livestock farming, the Department granted VietGAP certificates to 26 establishments, including 21 poultry farms and 5 pig farms.

Over the past years, Thai Nguyen province has devoted many resources to supporting cooperatives and agricultural production households to switch from traditional farming to good agricultural practices (VietGAP). However, in reality, the area meeting VietGAP standards is still quite modest. Of the total 8,100 hectares of certified crops, the main crop is tea (over 6,440 hectares), other crops are quite small.
