At the August 2024 press conference organized by the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Information and Communications, and the Thai Nguyen Provincial Journalists Association (August 22), Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Thai Nguyen province said that in the 2024 - 2025 school year, the whole Thai Nguyen province has 677 schools from preschool to high school with a total of 333,238 students, a decrease of 1,674 students compared to the same period last school year; 600/677 schools meet national standards (accounting for 88.63%); the staff and teachers have nearly 26,000 people, basically ensuring to carry out educational tasks.

Mr. Hung emphasized that the 2024-2025 school year marks the end of the term of implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; the Resolution of the National Assembly on the 5-year socio -economic development plan 2021-2025; the Government's Action Program to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
This is also the school year that the 2018 General Education Program is implemented in all grades from grade 1 to grade 12 and is also the first school year to organize the High School Graduation Exam according to the 2018 General Education Program.

To successfully carry out the tasks of the 2024-2025 school year, Mr. Hung said that the education sector of Thai Nguyen province needs to continue to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of education. Organize the implementation of assigned tasks to ensure completion according to the schedule of the 2018 general education program and the time frame for the 2024-2025 school year.
Along with that, innovate state management in the field of education and training in the direction of strong decentralization, streamlining, efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring the creative role for educational development.
"Prioritize investment resources in facilities and teaching equipment for preschools, general education, and continuing education facilities in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, in which priority is given to consolidating and developing ethnic boarding schools, semi-boarding schools, and schools with semi-boarding students," Mr. Hung emphasized.

In addition, the education sector of Thai Nguyen province will also improve the quality of preschool education, general education and continuing education. Effectively implement the general education program for all classes, especially for grades 5, 9 and 12; strengthen innovation in teaching methods and positive assessment and testing towards developing students' qualities and abilities. Prepare well the conditions to organize the 2025 High School Graduation Exam to ensure safety, seriousness and objectivity.
Develop a team of teachers, lecturers and educational institution managers to ensure sufficient quantity and improve quality, meeting the requirements of educational and training innovation. Review the number of staffing targets, propose to supplement the staffing that is lacking compared to the norm.
Promote digital transformation and administrative reform throughout the sector. Strengthen inspection, examination and handling of violations in the field of education and training. Strengthen inspection and examination of the implementation of policies and laws on education and training to build a healthy educational environment, prevent and strictly handle violations in education and training.
