Thai Nguyen discovered the transportation of 2,200 geese and chickens without quarantine papers.

The owner admitted to buying geese at a farm in Du town, Phu Luong district and transporting them to Thuong Tin district, Hanoi city for consumption, but could not present a quarantine certificate.

On June 6, authorities in Thai Nguyen province discovered two consecutive cases of transporting animals, about 700 geese and 1,500 chickens, out of the province without animal quarantine certificates and animal products as prescribed.

Specifically, at around 8:40 a.m. on June 6, on National Highway 3, passing through Duong Goong hamlet, Co Lung commune, Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province, the provincial mobile interdisciplinary inspection team discovered car 29K-204.80 driven by Mr. LVC transporting 700 geese (equivalent to about 1.5 tons) in the direction of Phu Luong district to Thai Nguyen city.

The driver, who is also the owner of the goods, confessed to buying the geese at a farm in Du town, Phu Luong district with the intention of transporting them to Thuong Tin district, Hanoi city, for consumption.

However, the owner could not present the required animal and animal product quarantine certificate. The inspection team recorded that the animals were in good health.

At the above location, at about 9:50 a.m. the same day, the Mobile Interdisciplinary Inspection Team of Thai Nguyen province discovered car 73C-107.81 driven by Mr. L.D.T, the owner and driver, transporting 1,500 chickens (about 2 tons) purchased from a farm in Phu Ly commune, Phu Luong district for the purpose of transporting to Hue city for consumption. All of the above goods did not have animal and animal product quarantine certificates as prescribed.

Both of the above subjects violated the provisions of Clause 3, Article 17, Decree 90/2017/ND-CP dated July 31, 2017 of the Government regulating administrative sanctions in the veterinary field (amended and supplemented by Decree No. 04/2020/ND-CP dated January 3, 2020 of the Government and Decree No. 07/2022/ND-CP dated January 10, 2022 of the Government).

The inspection team has drawn up a record of administrative violations in the veterinary field. The two car owners agreed with the record and asked to comply with the penalties according to regulations./.
