Con Son Pagoda is located in Con Son village, Son Tien commune (Huong Son - Ha Tinh ) with a history of nearly 600 years. This is the pagoda associated with the famous person Nguyen Trai and the Lam Son army.
Con Son Pagoda is located at the foot of Thien Nhan Mountain in Son Tien Commune, about 2km from Hoang Tam Peak - the main location of Luc Nien Citadel (Nam Dan District - Nghe An ), a relic of the Lam Son uprising. This place belongs to the system of relics and ramparts of the Do Gia base of the Lam Son uprising, on today's Huong Son land. The pagoda was built in the 15th century, and it is said that the name Con Son was given by Nguyen Trai to commemorate his hometown.
After a period of degradation, Con Son Pagoda has just been invested in by T&T Group Joint Stock Company ( Hanoi City) to restore, embellish, and build a number of new items (the Tam Bao building, the ancestral house, and the Tam Quan gate) with a cost of over 14 billion VND (completed on May 1, 2023). The pagoda is located on an area of nearly 8,000 m2 , with a Nhi (二)-shaped architecture including the upper hall and the lower hall. The upper hall is a house with a wooden architectural structure, a roof in the style of overlapping matches (two floors, eight roofs).
According to field documents, Con Son Pagoda used to be a place to store food, wealth and weapons of the Lam Son insurgents. Later, Nguyen Trai built Con Son Pagoda here as a reward for the people who had sheltered and helped the insurgents during the difficult time of fighting against the Ming army in this land. Con Son Pagoda used to worship Buddha. To commemorate Nguyen Trai's contributions to the people and the country, after his death, the people carved statues of him and his wife to worship in the pagoda next to Buddha. Every year on holidays and Buddha's birthday, the people and Buddhists make pilgrimages to Con Son Pagoda to burn incense and pray for national peace, people's safety, and world peace.
Currently, the pagoda has 8 ancient statues, including 6 Buddha statues, 1 statue of the famous person Nguyen Trai, and 1 statue of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Lo, worshiped in the lower shrine.
The statue of Nguyen Trai is sculpted with a dragonfly-wing hat on his head and his face expressing intelligence and erudition.

With its outstanding historical and cultural values, Con Son Pagoda was ranked as a provincial historical and cultural relic by the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province in 2005.
In particular, after the pagoda was restored, Buddhists from near and far donated books and built Nguyen Trai Library to serve the people's need to read books and learn about Buddhism.
According to Venerable Thich Nu Chon Khai - Abbot of Con Son Pagoda, the restoration and embellishment of Con Son Pagoda has contributed to preserving and promoting cultural, historical and traditional educational values, contributing to the development of spiritual cultural tourism associated with eco-tourism in Huong Son district.
