Workers' Month 2025: Flexible, creative, and worker-oriented

Workers' Month activities take place throughout May in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 139th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1) and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025). Not only is it an innovation in the thinking of trade unions, the spirit of Workers' Month 2025 also reflects expectations for the proactive role of workers in the digital age, technological transformation and international integration. One of the notable highlights is the program "Creative workers, confidently entering the new era".

To implement the program, the Provincial Federation of Labor has directed trade unions at all levels to pay attention to organizing propaganda activities, mobilizing union members and workers to study and improve their professional skills; cultivating courage, renewing working style, improving integration skills; promoting emulation to improve qualifications, professional knowledge and skills; encouraging union members and workers to innovate, have many initiatives, improve techniques, apply modern technology to production, contributing to increasing labor productivity, work efficiency, and improving business efficiency.

In order to strongly spread the value of the "Creative Labor Festival 2025", competitions to propose ideas, initiatives, technical solutions to innovate production processes; save raw materials, fuel, time, labor; new methods, good models in modern business management; content and methods of union activities at the grassroots level have been organized by unions at all levels. In particular, focusing on honoring and praising workers with achievements in labor, production with many initiatives and innovations; achieving high achievements in competitions for skilled workers..., contributing to spreading the spirit of creativity among union members and workers...

As for the program "Dialogue in May" and the forum "Party with Workers - Workers with the Party" is an opportunity for workers to directly dialogue with leaders of Party committees, authorities and employers; it is an opportunity for trade unions at all levels to advise on organizing forums before the Party congresses at the same level, thereby listening to and solving issues directly related to workers and receiving union members' contributions to Party building work.

Along with that, trade unions at all levels will also organize the program "Thanking workers" by coordinating with employers to promptly commend and reward workers with many initiatives to improve labor processes, actively contributing to the development of enterprises; giving gifts to union members in difficult circumstances; organizing competitions, cultural, artistic, physical education and sports festivals, sightseeing, vacations, meetings with workers' families... creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere among workers... At the same time, organizing sports competitions among workers, civil servants and laborers to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere among union members and laborers to celebrate major events of the country. Workers' Month 2025 is also identified as the peak month for developing union members, establishing grassroots unions and introducing and developing party members who are workers.

As planned, the Provincial Federation of Labor will organize the launching ceremony of the Workers' Month, responding to the Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Hygiene in 2025 at the end of April with the participation of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of departments, branches and sectors of the province. At the launching ceremony, the Provincial Federation of Labor will honor and reward 28 outstanding union members and workers who received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; present 250 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, worth VND 500,000/gift, and support 5 "Union Shelters" worth VND 50 million/house. During the Workers' Month 2025, the Provincial Federation of Labor aims to have 70% or more of grassroots unions in all types of enterprises having at least one activity responding to the Workers' Month; 35% or more of grassroots trade unions in administrative agencies and public service units have at least one appropriate activity in response to Workers' Month 2025.

Following the plan of the Provincial Federation of Labor, the Federation of Labor of districts, towns, cities, and the Trade Unions of industrial parks in the province have proactively developed a plan to organize Workers' Month with many diverse and practical activities to care for the material and spiritual life of workers. Binh Luc is the first unit to organize and launch the Workers' Month 2025 in the province.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Truong, Vice President of Binh Luc District Labor Federation, said: In order for Workers' Month to achieve the best results, the District Labor Federation has issued a plan and directed grassroots unions to organize meaningful activities based on the actual situation to take care of the material and spiritual life and protect the rights of workers. At the launching ceremony of Workers' Month, the District Labor Federation presented 1 "Union Shelter" house and nearly 130 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances (worth 500,000 VND/person). The new point of this year's Workers' Month is the organization of the "Worker Dance" contest with the participation of 6 teams from grassroots unions in the enterprise. Through that, we hope to create a meaningful playground so that Workers' Month is truly a festival for workers...

In Phu Ly city, the city's Labor Federation organized a ceremony to commend and reward 50 outstanding union members and workers; and presented gifts to 50 union members and workers facing difficulties. With a large workforce, the provincial industrial park labor unions continued to organize the Workers' Sports Festival in conjunction with the launching ceremony of Workers' Month 2025.

In fact, Workers' Month is one of the peak periods for trade unions to carry out activities to care for the lives and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers. Along with honoring the great contributions of the working class, affirming the role of workers in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, the good organization of Workers' Month contributes to raising awareness and responsibility of the whole society, especially employers and authorities at all levels in caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests, improving living and working conditions of workers; encouraging workers to actively study, improve their qualifications and skills, change careers, approach modern labor trends, adapt to the context of international integration and prepare for the new development stage of the country.
