Ho Chi Minh City opens the 3rd Orchid Festival in 2025

NDO - On May 16, the Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City and other units to organize the opening ceremony of the 3rd Orchid Festival in 2025 with the theme "Multi-colored Train".

The festival aims to honor the beauty of orchids, connect culture, tourism and urban agriculture , and attract a large number of visitors.

Through 2 times of organization, Orchid Festival is not only a place to gather unique and creative orchid and ornamental flower products of domestic and international artisans to serve the needs of visitors but also a meeting place to exchange experiences between domestic and foreign artisans, as well as opening up important trade promotion opportunities to connect product consumption.

Mr. Vo Van Hoan - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee spoke at the Opening Ceremony of the 3rd Orchid Festival 2025.

With the theme “Multi-colored Train”, designed and inspired by two unified trains departing at the same time, on the same day, December 31, 1976, at Hanoi and Saigon stations, opening the North-South railway line with the aspiration for Peace, healing and reunion.

The image of the North-South train attached to the Metro will be the main axis leading to special train stations connecting the past-future-present, bringing visitors to enjoy the beauty of flowers with typical regional characteristics across the country.

With the theme "Multi-colored Train", the two trains unifying Hanoi and Saigon are designed to be filled with orchids.

This year's festival has more than 200 units including artisans, gardeners, and farms participating in the orchid exhibition and contest, introducing 39,000 orchid products and contests, an increase of 35% compared to the previous event.

Along with that is the participation of countries, provinces and localities with strengths in orchid production introduced through miniature landscapes with unique characteristics of countries and localities such as: Kingdom of Thailand, Lam Dong province and especially recreating the work Hon Viet which won the silver prize at the Taiwan (China) International Orchid Exhibition - TIOS in 2025.

On this occasion, the organizing committee awarded prizes to gardeners and artisans with the most beautiful, unique and typical orchid models participating in the contest.

The award-winning orchid samples will be displayed at the Festival from May 16 to 20 to serve the sightseeing and enjoyment needs of city residents as well as domestic and international tourists.

First prize wild orchid of the genus Khynchostylis Retusa (Foxtail).

At this 3rd Orchid Festival, Ho Chi Minh City expects that orchids, ornamental flowers and especially newly bred and hybridized varieties will be introduced, promoted and promoted to connect supply and demand, access domestic and international markets. Thereby, creating opportunities for gardeners, cooperatives and enterprises to exchange and learn to improve the quality of orchid products, gradually affirming the position and brand in the typical key products of Ho Chi Minh City's agricultural sector.

The festival will take place from May 16 to 20, at Tao Dan Park, District 1.
