Strengthening cooperation between the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Health in responding to new challenges

(Dan Tri) - According to Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan, in the context of globalization, deep integration and many non-traditional challenges, the coordination between the two Ministries of Defense and Health needs to continue to be strengthened and developed.

On the morning of May 27, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense, a conference was held to review the Regulations on coordination of work between the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Health for the period 2015-2025. The conference took place online, connecting 66 points across the country, including 3 points in the Truong Sa archipelago.

Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan said that the work of combining health with national defense has been carried out throughout the two long resistance wars of the nation, in the national defense posture, and in the people's war in peacetime. This is an important measure to carry out the task of treating wounded and sick soldiers and caring for and protecting people's health.

The two Ministries have advised the Government and the Prime Minister to issue decrees and decisions on military-civilian medical cooperation and the Vietnam Sea and Island Healthcare Development Program to 2030..., creating a widespread network of medical examination, treatment and disease prevention.

According to Minister Lan, in the context of globalization, deep integration and many non-traditional challenges, coordination between the two Ministries of Defense and Health in particular and between the armed forces and the health sector needs to continue to be strengthened and developed.

"The world is increasingly facing many complex challenges, from natural disasters, epidemics to armed conflicts and climate change. This requires a system of comprehensive socio-economic development, closely combined with national defense and security assurances, which is becoming increasingly urgent," Minister Lan emphasized.

The Minister believes that, with the efforts of the entire health sector, the support of the Ministry of National Defense, and the active participation and coordination of ministries, departments, branches, and organizations, the work of caring for and protecting the health of soldiers and people will be increasingly consolidated and enhanced, contributing to the development of Vietnam's health sector.

In his concluding remarks at the conference, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, highly appreciated the coordination between the two ministries in the fields of defense and security associated with health and health associated with defense and security.

At the conference, Minister Phan Van Giang and Minister Dao Hong Lan signed the Coordination Regulation between the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Health, replacing Coordination Regulation No. 162.

On this occasion, leaders of the two Ministries presented and received the "Medal for the cause of building the Vietnam People's Army", "Medal for people's health" and presented awards to collectives that excellently completed the task of coordinating work.
