Delegates attending the Award Ceremony for "Journalism on the Transport Sector, 4th Edition, 2022-2023" and launching the "Journalism on the Transport Sector, 5th Edition, 2023-2024" Award.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ba Kien, Editor-in-Chief of Giao Thong Newspaper and representative of the Organizing Committee, said that after one year of launching the competition, nearly 280 works (an increase of more than 50 works compared to the third competition) from nearly 60 central and local press agencies (an increase of more than 10 press agencies) have participated.

Through a screening and selection process, the Organizing Committee has chosen 25 outstanding works to award prizes. According to the judging panel, this year's entries not only increased significantly in number but also improved in quality compared to previous years. Many articles contained innovative initiatives, proposals, and ideas contributing to the development of the transportation sector.

A highlight of this year's competition is the nearly 100 long-form series, many of which are 4-5 installments long and meticulously produced, showcasing the dedication and passion of the journalists. This year, many works were presented with elaborate detail, vividly portraying the subject matter using modern, engaging, and eye-catching journalistic genres such as E-Magazines, Infographics, and Longform articles. Notable examples include: the longform series from Thai Binh newspaper: "People are informed - roads are clear"; and the photo report: "A synchronized expressway axis running from Hanoi to Mong Cai" from Vietnamnet newspaper…

Mr. Nguyen Ba Kien, Editor-in-Chief of Giao Thong Newspaper, delivered a speech.

The competition also attracted many works in the genre of reportage and feature stories, such as: "Wings Carrying Spring" by Nhan Dan Newspaper; "Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen, the 'Barefoot, Iron-Willed' General" by Quang Binh Newspaper; "The Volunteer Journey of 'Barefoot Bridge and Road Engineers'" by An Giang Newspaper; "Red River Chronicle" by Tien Phong Newspaper. Particularly noteworthy was the five-part series of reports: "Sovereignty Lights on the East Sea" by Tuoi Tre Newspaper.

The Organizing Committee stated that although the number of entries and media outlets submitting works this year has increased, and the quality of content is more consistent than in previous years, this year's competition lacks works of significant stature that have had a major impact on society. Therefore, the Organizing Committee was unable to select a work to award the Special Prize. Instead, the Organizing Committee decided to increase the number of First Prizes from one to two and Second Prizes from two to three.

The Organizing Committee also awarded three collective prizes, each worth 10 million VND, to the three units with the most entries: Bac Giang Newspaper, Thanh Nien Newspaper, and Vietnam News Agency.

The new version of Giao Thong Newspaper uses news distribution technology based on reader needs, with a personalized section placed at the top of the homepage. Readers who appreciate the newspaper and register as members will receive information tailored to their interests, getting the most comprehensive daily traffic news.

As the newsroom grows stronger, the newspaper will show its gratitude to readers who have accompanied it on its journey not only with news articles but also with practical gifts distributed based on reader data stored in the digital environment, through interactions with the online newspaper and app.
