Another Chinese company reaches unbelievable battery level

The Honor Power 2 recently appeared in the certification database in China with a battery capacity of up to 10,000 mAh. However, it seems that this is not the only Honor device to reach this huge battery threshold.

According to Digital Chat Station , the smartphone company is developing a second phone model with a similar battery capacity. The source said the new device has entered the trial production phase in China.

The battery on the second model has a capacity of 36.88 Wh, equivalent to 9,755 mAh. The average capacity seems to be around 9,900 mAh, and in the commercial version, the battery is likely to reach the 10,000 mAh mark.

This information comes after the Honor Power 2 was spotted in China's 3C certification with a rated battery capacity of 9,886 mAh. Thus, Honor may soon have at least 2 smartphone models with batteries close to or reaching the 10,000 mAh mark.

The development of silicon-carbon battery technology has been a key factor in allowing phone manufacturers to put large battery capacities in smartphones without significantly increasing the size or weight of the device. Honor seems to be taking full advantage of this trend, focusing on longer battery life rather than just upgrading the configuration.

The commercial name of the second model with a 10,000 mAh battery is currently unknown, but a report from October said Honor was developing a GT 2 series with a battery capacity above 9,000 mAh, which matches up with recent leaks.

The Honor GT 2 is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, while the GT 2 Pro could be powered by Qualcomm's newer Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The series could feature a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor and water resistance, with IP68 and IP69 ratings.

With the Honor Power 2, sources say the device will use MediaTek's Dimensity 8500 chip. The device may be equipped with a 6.79-inch LTPS OLED screen with 1.5K resolution. Despite carrying a large capacity battery, the body is likely to be only about 8mm thick.

Currently, all of the above details are just rumors and certification documents. Meanwhile, Honor has not given any official confirmation or release schedule for Honor Power 2 as well as the second 10,000 mAh battery model.
