Phu Quy - a small island off the coast of Binh Thuan province, more than 56 nautical miles from the mainland, is one of the Fatherland's solid outposts in the middle of the ocean. In the middle of the vast space of waves, the national flagpole stands tall, this is not only a sacred boundary, but also a symbol of the will, loyalty and indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese people.

Representatives of the government, armed forces, islanders and Women's Union officials solemnly saluted the flag.

Under the dawn light, bowing before the sacred flagpole of the Fatherland's sovereignty , in the solemn atmosphere, a solemn and resolute shout resounded: "Look at the flag... Salute!", "National anthem!".

As soon as the commanding officer finished, all of us looked at the national flag and sang solemnly: “The Vietnamese army marches with the same heart to save the country/Footsteps echo on the bumpy road far away/The flag is printed with the blood of victory carrying the soul of the country/The guns in the distance intermingle with the marching song/The glorious road is covered with the corpses of the enemy/Overcoming hardships, we together establish a war zone/Fighting endlessly for the people/Advance quickly to the battlefield/Advance! Advance together!/Our Vietnamese country is strong and lasting...”.

The bright red national flag and the national anthem are still deeply imprinted in the minds of every Vietnamese citizen, but when they resound majestically, blending with the sound of waves in the middle of the ocean, the working group, armed forces, and people on the island are all filled with emotion, feeling more clearly than ever the value of independence and freedom; seeing more clearly the responsibility to preserve sacred sovereignty and the pride of having contributed a small part in that journey.

Ms. Do Thi Thu Thao - Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union shared: "We come to the island not only to convey the feelings of women across the country, but also to listen, share and accompany the soldiers and people on the remote island. Today's flag-raising ceremony is a vivid proof of the love for the Fatherland that always burns in the hearts of Vietnamese women".

Looking at the national flag fluttering in the sun and wind of Truong Sa, everyone's eyes exuded emotion and pride. Ms. Kim Thi Minh - Vice President of the Women's Union of Tay Ninh province confided: "When our delegation, soldiers and people on the island sang the National Anthem, it was like a strong affirmation of the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands.

All eyes are on the National Flag, the symbol of the nation. Where there is the National Anthem, where there is the National Flag, there is the sacred soul of Vietnam's mountains and rivers. We - the Association's cadres are determined to contribute to building our homeland, maintaining the sovereignty of our homeland's seas and islands.

The national flag flying on Phu Quy Island, the sacred flag-raising ceremony is not only the image of an independent nation, but also a vivid symbol of the will, aspiration and mettle of the Vietnamese people in the journey to preserve territorial integrity.

It is a wordless epic, written by silent but brave people. In every sea breeze, in the eyes of the children of the distant islands, the Fatherland is present – sacred, close and immortal.

On this occasion, the delegation of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union and the Southeast and Southwest emulation clusters presented two national flags to Phu Quy island district. The flag - a symbol of faith and national pride, is a small gift but contains deep affection, as a strong affirmation: the sea and islands are flesh and blood, an inseparable sacred part of the country of Vietnam.
