Lack of preschool and primary school teachers before the new school year, Quang Tri province proposes solutions

On August 22, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province announced that the total number of managers, teachers, employees, and contract workers in Quang Tri province is 13,441. Of these, 4,280 are in preschool, 4,047 are in primary school, 3,331 are in secondary school, and 1,783 are in high school.

The Department also said that in the 2023-2024 school year, the Department of Education and Training of districts, towns and cities has actively arranged and assigned staff, gradually ensuring the structure, gradually overcoming local shortages and surpluses of subjects. Basically ensuring the implementation of preschool and generaleducation programs according to the 2018 General Education Program.

Despite many recruitment and arrangement measures, Quang Tri still has a local shortage of teachers.

To overcome the situation of having too many teachers in some places and not enough teachers in others, last school year the education sector recruited 174 officials, accepted 67 officials, arranged for 75 officials to be transferred outside the district, transferred 151 officials within the district, town, and city, and rotated and arranged for 147 officials to teach in inter-schools...

However, the industry is currently short of 351 teachers, staff and managers. Of which, preschool teachers are short of 74; primary school teachers are short of 54... In secondary school alone, Quang Tri has a surplus of 62 teachers.

Mr. Hoang Nam, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, said that in order to create the best conditions for the new school year, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Tri province needs to review and summarize the current staffing situation of the department and the entire sector. It is necessary to be proactive in arranging and organizing the staff, teachers, and school employees to ensure reasonableness and science ; synchronous coordination between sectors and localities to rotate teachers, overcoming the situation of local surplus and shortage.
