Quang Tri: 8 exposed mines discovered after floods

On November 1, information from Trieu Van Border Guard Station, Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard said that during a patrol in the area, the unit discovered 8 bombs and mines left over from the war exposed after floods in the area under the unit's management.

Accordingly, through patrolling and checking the situation in the area after the flood, the working group of Trieu Van Border Guard Station discovered 8 open-air mines in the coastal area of ​​village 6, Trieu Co commune, Quang Tri province due to the flood causing sand landslides.

As soon as the bombs were discovered, the unit notified local authorities, coordinated with functional forces to protect the scene, set up warnings, and at the same time warned people not to enter or exit dangerous areas.

The unit also contacted the Bomb Disposal Team of the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command to conduct the handling procedure according to regulations.
