According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today (November 18), a very strong cold air mass has begun to move in, the North will turn to cold rain, some places will be very cold. From Ha Tinh to Khanh Hoa, there will still be heavy rain.

Early this morning (November 18), cold air has affected most of the northern mountainous areas and some places in the Northeast region of the North. At Bach Long Vi station, there was strong northeast wind at level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7.

Forecast of cold air developments in the next 24 to 48 hours:

On land: On November 18, cold air continues to affect other places in the Northern region, North Central region, some places in Central Central region, then affect other places in Central Central region and South Central region. On land, strong northeast wind level 3-4, coastal areas strong level 4-5, some places level 6, gusting to level 7.

Due to the influence of strengthening cold air, in the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An there will be rain, showers and thunderstorms in some places.

In the North and North Central regions, the weather turns cold; in the mountainous and midland regions of the North, it is very cold, in the high mountains, some places are very cold; in the Northern Delta, some places are very cold.

Lowest temperature during cold air: Northern Delta and North Central: 12-15 degrees Celsius. Northern mountainous and midland areas: 9-12 degrees Celsius. High mountainous areas have places below 5 degrees Celsius.

Hanoi area: Rain, showers. Cold, some places very cold. Lowest temperature commonly 12-14 degrees Celsius.

At sea: In the Gulf of Tonkin, the Northeast wind gradually increases to level 7, sometimes level 8, gusting to level 9-10; rough seas; waves 3.0-5.0m. In the North East Sea (including Hoang Sa special zone), the Northeast wind increases to level 7-8, gusting to level 9-10; waves 4.0-6.0m; rough seas. In the area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai and the sea area north of the central East Sea, the wind increases to level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9; waves 4.0-6.0m; rough seas. From the night of November 18, the sea area from Gia Lai to Khanh Hoa has strong winds to level 6, gusting to level 7-8; waves 3.0-5.0m; rough seas.
