Lung Tao village - attractive destination

BHG - About 35 km from the center of Ha Giang city, Lung Tao village, Cao Bo commune (Vi Xuyen) is a small village located at the foot of Tay Con Linh mountain, where the Dao ethnic people live. In recent times, Lung Tao village has become an attractive destination, attracting tourists from near and far because of its wild beauty, majestic and unique nature, enjoying dishes grown and prepared by the locals themselves and learning about the good traditional values imbued with the national cultural identity from language, costumes, festivals...

The people and natural scenery here are simple and rustic.

Lung Tao Village was recognized as a Community Cultural Tourism Village in 2009. Coming here, visitors will be immersed in the extremely majestic, pristine, and miraculously pure natural scenery. This place is likened to a picture favored by nature with many waterfalls, ancient tea forests, and terraced fields.

Thanks to the harmonious combination of nature and people, Lung Tao increasingly urges tourists to come and explore . Besides the natural beauty, there is also a cool, fresh climate, charming scenery, and quiet space. Thanks to that, Lung Tao village has become a unique and potential tourist destination.

John from the UK shared: “This is the first time I have come to Lung Tao village, when I saw the terraced fields here I was really impressed because they are all large fields, located high on the majestic hillsides. Coming here, I experienced the ancient Shan Tuyet tea hills, saw with my own eyes and picked precious tea buds in the early morning with the people in my village, I really enjoyed it, especially during my journey I was guided by Dao boys and girls to conquer Tay Con Linh mountain peak with an altitude of 2,428 m above sea level, known as the "Roof of the Northeast". This is a unique and separate land. During my experience, the people introduced me to many precious specialties of the old forest ecosystem such as: Cardamom, traditional medicine, precious ginseng, wild vegetables, wild flowers...".

Mr. Dang Van Diem, Head of Lung Tao village, said: “The whole village currently has 76 households, more than 418 people, mainly Dao ethnic people. The whole village has 10 households doing homestay community tourism. We, Lung Tao people, are proud to have a population of ancient Shan Tuyet tea trees that have been recognized as a Vietnam Heritage Tree. We always preserve the cultural and spiritual values of the Dao people from language, writing, costumes, festivals, marriage rituals, worship, conventions, village covenants... we consider this a valuable asset to pass on to future generations. At the same time, we can attract tourists to visit, learn and experience”.

In recent years, Vi Xuyen district has organized many tourism association programs and seminars. These emphasize the building of identity, creating uniqueness and distinction in tourism products of each locality, connecting tourist destinations more closely, innovating in sightseeing and experience activities, building sustainable tourism communities to maximize the strengths of the land and people of Vi Xuyen.

The homestay service system for tourists has also been completed and put into operation by many local Dao families. When coming to Lung Tao village, tourists can visit the traditional stilt houses of the Dao people wearing ao dai located on high mountain tops such as: Dang Quang Homestay or 1983 homestay, Tra Shan Tuyet Valley homestay...

Ms. Dang Thi Giang, owner of the Shan Tuyet Tea Valley homestay, shared: “Thanks to tourism, our Dao people's lives have changed. In addition to farming, picking tea and growing cardamom, we have had the opportunity to become amateur tour guides and interact with domestic and foreign guests, and make friends from all over the world. We always preserve our cultural identity and natural landscape so that visitors will have an interesting and impressive experience.”

Currently, Lung Tao Village Community Tourism Cultural Village has become an ideal destination for tourists to experience and explore. This place is likened to a rough gem that quietly shines in the mountains and forests, a land that fully converges the beauty of people in the journey of establishing and preserving the village. From the hands and minds of the highland people, the hard-working life has created indigenous cultural values, the quintessence to bring the mark of community tourism far and wide.
