The investment project to build a route connecting Gia Binh airport with Hanoi capital and connecting Kenh Vang bridge to Hai Duong province in Bac Ninh province is proposed to have a total route length of 33.61 km; to build synchronously according to the designed cross-section of 120m for the route from Gia Binh airport to Hanoi city; to build parallel roads on both sides and plant trees on the remaining part to reserve for investment in the next phase for the route from Gia Binh airport to Kenh Vang bridge. At the same time, to build urban railway infrastructure (excluding equipment systems for transporting passengers) and TOD underground stations, in order to maximize the advantages of the airport and urban areas along the connecting routes. The total estimated investment in Bac Ninh province is about 56,200 billion VND.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Tan Phuong clarified some contents agreed between the two localities.
Leaders of the two localities exchanged and discussed the route direction, ensuring the shortest, straightest and most beautiful route; mechanisms and investment plans for the construction of the entire route and sections of each locality; project implementation roadmap; responsibilities and coordination between the two localities to complete investment procedures, site clearance and implement tasks... striving to complete the project in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister "striving to complete the synchronous international airport and connecting road by 2026 at the latest".
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan affirmed that the close coordination and unity between the two localities on the route, mechanism and investment plan will contribute to promoting the project implementation in accordance with the direction of the Central Government. He requested the Hanoi People's Committee to direct specialized agencies to coordinate with Bac Ninh province to soon complete the inter-local draft to submit to the Prime Minister on the route, investment form and specific mechanism. The Department of Construction is assigned to continue studying the urban railway plan, ensuring feasibility and conformity with the planning.
