BHG - From the night of June 5 to the early morning of June 6, heavy rains occurred in Tan Lap commune (Bac Quang), causing landslides on many traffic routes in the area.
Due to heavy rain, soil and rocks rolled down provincial road 177 in Tan Lap commune (Bac Quang). |
Provincial Road 177, through Tan Lap Commune, heavy rain caused rocks and soil on the left side of the slope to flow down the road at 4 locations with a volume of thousands of cubic meters, causing local traffic jams, 4 specific locations: At km2, the landslide onto the road was estimated at about 50 cubic meters; at km3+200, rocks and soil slid down the road with a volume of about 5 cubic meters; at km4 (the dumping site), rocks from the stream filled the bridge wall with a volume of about 300 cubic meters and swept away a fiber optic cable pole; at km5+600, rocks on the positive slope side fell onto the road with a volume of about 10 cubic meters. This is the route connecting National Highway 2 with the western districts of the province, Hoang Su Phi and Xin Man, so the traffic volume is very large. In addition, in the commune, there are also 4 inter-rural roads with many landslides and breaks due to floods, causing many villages and hamlets to be isolated.
Immediately after receiving the information, local authorities sent forces to the scene to deal with the consequences. For the landslides on Provincial Road 177, local authorities coordinated with relevant agencies to mobilize human resources and machinery to level the landslides and rocks on the road surface. However, due to the large volume of landslides, the recovery process took a long time. It was not until 12 o'clock on June 6 that the road was basically cleared for people and vehicles to pass.
For landslides on rural roads, the commune government has directed villages to mobilize local forces such as militia and youth unions to overcome them so that people can travel smoothly.
Faced with extreme weather developments, people need to be vigilant to minimize damage to people and property caused by natural disasters.
