New challenge in the sand racing competition - Bau Trang HTV Challenge Cup

In its 5th edition, the Bau Trang HTV Challenge Cup 2023 sand terrain racing tournament promises to bring new and exciting experiences to athletes.

On November 24, at Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV), the announcement ceremony of the off-road racing tournament on sand - Bau Trang HTV Challenge Cup 2023 took place. The tournament took place from December 1 to 3, attracting 48 teams (96 athletes) competing in off-road cars and 43 athletes competing in off-road motorbikes.

Mr. Thai Thanh Chung - Deputy Director of HTV, representative of the Organizing Committee, said that after 4 seasons of competition in Cu Chi (HCMC), in the 5th season, for the first time, athletes will experience competing on a very unique terrain at Bau Trang sand hill ( Binh Thuan ). "We always want to bring to the audience and fans excitement, new, attractive and thrilling moments. The program is not only a playground for the community of people who love off-road racing in Vietnam, but also through it, it introduces to the public the skills and psychology of driving motorbikes and cars to contribute to ensuring traffic safety. In addition, the tournament also hopes to contribute to promoting the cultural values ​​and unique tourism products of Binh Thuan in particular and Vietnam in general to everyone," said Mr. Thai Thanh Chung.

After four seasons of racing on muddy terrain, the racers will experience racing on sand.

Veteran off-road racer Bach Ngoc Duy Duc said that after 4 years of experience in the muddy racing conditions, this time moving to the sand racing, everything will definitely be different. "My teammates and I have also prepared quite well for the new sand racing conditions. Hopefully I will have the luck to be able to compete against the sun and wind as soon as possible," Bach Ngoc Duy Duc confided.

Meanwhile, famous off-road motorcycle racer in Vietnam Lam Vuong said: "Off-road motorcycle enthusiasts are very excited to return to the race this year under new competition conditions. Riding a motorcycle on the sand with a bumpy track full of sharp turns is a big challenge, but everyone is ready to conquer it, aiming for the highest achievement."

The prize for the champion of the off-road car category is 90 million VND, the champion of the off-road motorbike category is 20 million VND (professional category), 15 million VND (semi-professional category).
