Pioneer in research, innovation and application of modern technology in medical examination and treatment practices

Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Xuan Co - Director of Bach Mai Hospital said that with the theme "Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence - The Foundation for Breakthrough Development of Modern Medicine", the 33rd Bach Mai Hospital Science Conference is not only an annual professional event, but has become an academic space, a place to exchange, spread and create new values ​​for the development of Vietnam's healthcare industry. At the same time, this event is not only topical but also demonstrates foresight and strategic action thinking.

The theme of this year's conference reflects the inevitable development trend of modern medicine. Artificial intelligence (AI), digital medicine and personalized medicine are creating fundamental changes in medical examination and treatment from diagnosis, treatment to management and prevention.

The 33rd Bach Mai Hospital Scientific Conference has a scale of 01 plenary session, 32 thematic sessions and 6 satellite sessions with 150 chairpersons, 273 domestic and international reporters with 300 scientific reports, sharing research works of high practical value in many fields: emergency resuscitation, cardiology, oncology, infectious diseases, nuclear medicine, diagnostic imaging, and smart medical management.

The participation of many experts, scientists and young doctors is a testament to the vibrant academic spirit and strong influence of Bach Mai in the medical community nationwide.

In his speech at the conference, Deputy Minister Tran Van Thuan said: "We are entering an era in which technology does not replace humans, but will be an extension of knowledge, a catalyst for more accurate, timely and humane clinical decisions.

Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan and Dr. Nguyen Ngo Quang - Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Training, Ministry of Health awarded the GCP Certificate in clinical trials of drugs and medical equipment to the Hospital Board of Directors.

The leaders of the Ministry of Health also affirmed: This strategic orientation is completely consistent with the spirit of Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo, which emphasizes that Breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation are the main driving forces for the country's rapid and sustainable development. The health sector needs to be a pioneer in concretizing that spirit, because this is a field directly related to the health, life and happiness of the people.

Along with that, the recent Resolution No. 72 of the Politburo has also established a fundamental innovation mindset: Strongly shifting from a mindset focused on medical examination and treatment to proactive disease prevention, focusing on protecting, caring for, and improving comprehensive health, continuously throughout the life cycle.

"These are revolutionary directives, requiring the active and pioneering participation of leading medical centers such as Bach Mai Hospital, which not only cares for patients, but is also a center for knowledge creation, technology development, and connecting the innovative medical ecosystem nationwide," Deputy Minister Tran Van Thuan shared.

According to Professor, Dr. Tran Van Thuan, the Ministry of Health highly appreciates Bach Mai's pioneering role in the entire process of building a smart hospital model, promoting evidence-based medical research, applying high technology, and developing international integration capacity.

"In the overall strategy of the industry, we clearly identify that central medical facilities are responsible not only for treatment, but also for leading and spreading the model of knowledge management, data and innovation to the entire health system" - Deputy Minister Tran Van Thuan said and expressed his belief that the 33rd Bach Mai Science Conference will be a strong push to unleash creativity, so that scientists, doctors, managers, and businesses can together create an innovative ecosystem for Vietnamese healthcare.

At the conference, Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Xuan Co said that, continuing the success in science and technology with many major awards, in 2025 Bach Mai Hospital is honored to become one of the first public hospitals in the country to be recognized and licensed by the Ministry of Health to meet all 3 standards of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) in the fields of Medicine, New Methods - New Techniques and Medical Equipment.

This is an extremely important condition for scientific and technological products to be tested and successfully applied in diagnosis, treatment and prevention, thereby creating a premise for effectively developing high-quality health care services for people right in Vietnam according to Resolution 57 of the Politburo and the action plan according to Decision 2121 of the Ministry of Health.
