Prime Minister 'recruits' artists and athletes to participate in summer teaching for students

The above content was stated by the Prime Minister in a telegram sent to localities regarding the organization of high school graduation exams, ensuring the staffing of preschool and general education teachers, and summer vacations for children and students in 2025.

In particular, the Prime Minister mobilized and encouraged artists, artisans, athletes, and experts to organize cultural, artistic, and sports activities, develop talents; build a suitable environment for learning and using foreign languages ​​in the community, and healthy recreational and entertainment activities, attracting children, students, and university students to participate.

Along with that, it is required that localities and schools increase investment in facilities to organize clubs so that students can participate in physical activities, sports; practice life skills, foreign languages, arts, and organize swimming lessons in educational institutions.

The Ministry of Education and Training is also required to direct and guide localities and educational institutions to implement management and education measures and strengthen coordination between schools and families to create conditions for children and students to have fun, participate in cultural and artistic activities, physical training, and life skills training during the summer; and manage children and students to prevent accidents, injuries, and drowning.

In addition, the Prime Minister requested propaganda and education to raise awareness and consciousness so that students know and comply with regulations on preventing accidents, injuries, and drowning, especially in locations with potential risks of insecurity and drowning.

On May 3, at the meeting of the Politburo and the Secretariat, General Secretary To Lam emphasized: "The other day, when working with the Ministry of Education and Training, I said that we should have two sessions a day. In the afternoon, children can learn other subjects. You guys said that we need hundreds of thousands of teachers now. This cannot be done mechanically. To teach music, we should invite singers and talented artists to teach the children, (sign) contracts. The same goes for physical education and sports, we should invite athletes. Or we can invite artists to teach the children how to draw."

General Secretary To Lam also affirmed: "In peace, all children can develop. After finishing grade 12, they must at least know how to play a musical instrument."

Discussing within the framework of the 9th Session of the 15th National Assembly, delegate Nguyen Thi Thu Ha (Quang Ninh Delegation) spoke, very impressed and highly agreed with General Secretary To Lam's suggestion of inviting good singers, musicians, athletes or painters to teach music, sports or drawing to students.

" This is like a directive to pave the way for thinking in educational management. Contracting with singers, musicians, athletes, artists, and teaching gifted subjects in educational institutions is an opportunity for students to develop their talents and abilities, overcoming the current difficulty of lacking gifted teachers, " said delegate Ha.

The female delegate proposed that the draft Law on Teachers should include a framework provision related to this matter and assign the Government to implement it.
