On the afternoon of April 29, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh offered incense to commemorate Chairman of the Council of Ministers Pham Hung and Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet at their homes in Ho Chi Minh City.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the delegation offered incense to commemorate Chairman of the Council of Ministers Pham Hung (1912 - 1988) - a staunch and indomitable communist, an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh , a highly prestigious leader of the Party, State and people; expressing their affection and respect for the Chairman of the Council of Ministers' contributions to the cause of national construction and defense.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the delegation respectfully bowed before the spirit of Comrade Pham Hung, a typical and exemplary example of revolutionary ethics - diligence, thrift, integrity, impartiality, absolute loyalty to the Party's revolutionary cause, ready to fight and sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people.

Born and raised in the struggle for national independence in the South, especially from 1967 to 1975, comrade Pham Hung was appointed as Secretary of the Central Office for Southern Vietnam, directly entering the battlefield to direct the resistance war against the invading American imperialists. In 1975, he was assigned as Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh Campaign Command.

After the liberation of the South, he was assigned the important responsibility of representing the Party and Government to lead and manage the work of the Party and State in the South.

With over 75 years of age and 60 years of revolutionary activities, Chairman of the Council of Ministers Pham Hung was trusted by the Party and people with many important responsibilities in the struggle for national liberation as well as in the period of national reconstruction and development.

* On the same afternoon, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh offered incense to commemorate Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet (1922 - 2008) - an outstanding leader of the Party, State and people, an excellent student of President Ho Chi Minh, a loyal revolutionary soldier who fought all his life for national independence and socialism, for the happiness of the people.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his gratitude to Comrade Vo Van Kiet, with his democratic and in-depth working style, theory closely linked to practice, words matching actions, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility, Comrade has made many important contributions and left many outstanding marks in the cause of innovation, integration and development of the country.

Like Chairman of the Council of Ministers Pham Hung, comrade Vo Van Kiet grew up in the revolution and most of his early years contributed to the struggle to liberate the South and unify the country. In particular, while serving as a member of the Southern Regional Party Committee and Deputy Secretary of the Hau Giang Inter-Provincial Party Committee, in 1957 he was transferred to the Saigon - Gia Dinh Region as Secretary of the T.4 Regional Party Committee to lead the revolution.

From 1972 until the complete liberation of the South on April 30, 1975, as an official member of the Party Central Committee, term III, and a member of the Central Committee of the Southern Region, he always set a shining example as a loyal party member, a leader with a deep understanding of reality, with a strategic vision, and made decisions of strategic significance in building and developing the Saigon - Gia Dinh urban movement, maintaining and developing the Zone 9 movement, making an important contribution to the Party's people's war policy, and accompanying the country until the day of total victory.
