The clip received many likes, comments and shares after being posted. Many people were surprised by the teacher giving a large sum of money as lucky money to his students.

However, speaking with VietNamNet , Mr. Le Cong Trinh, Principal of the Ethnic Boarding Secondary and High School in Krong No District (Dak Nong) confirmed that the information that the teacher used his own money to give each student 1 million VND as lucky money for Tet is incorrect.

According to Mr. Trinh, each month, students of the district's Boarding Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities receive a scholarship equal to 80% of their basic salary. The basic salary has been increased since July 2024, but the Department of Education and Training has only recently provided additional funding, so the school has just paid back the homeroom teachers to pay the students.

“Because the students are older, the homeroom teacher planned to send some money to them to buy Tet gifts, and the rest will be sent to their parents at the next parent-teacher meeting. Unfortunately, the students joked that the teacher gave them money, causing the school a lot of trouble,” Mr. Trinh explained.

The principal of the Krong No District Boarding Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities said that the students' age does not yet recognize the problem, so he hopes that public opinion will share with the school, teachers and especially the student who posted the clip so that he can continue to study with peace of mind.

Teacher Nguyen Van Loi - the person appearing in the clip, confirmed that this was the student's back pay, not his personal money as shared online.

Krong No District Ethnic Boarding Secondary and High School currently has 7 classes with 221 students, most of whom are ethnic minorities in Dak Nong province.
