Actively preparing for the 2023 Provincial Excellent Mediator Competition

In recent days, grassroots mediators in the province have proactively learned and updated their legal knowledge, actively practiced and improved their skills to be ready to participate in the Provincial Excellent Mediator Competition (referred to as the Competition) taking place on August 19, 2023.

Mr. Pham Anh Duong, mediator of Nam Thanh ward, member of the Ninh Binh City Mediator Team, said: After being selected as one of the official members of the Ninh Binh City Excellent Mediator Team, I carefully studied the competition rules.

In order for the greeting to impress the audience and the judges, we learn more about the skills of acting, dancing, and creating a bond between the members of the Team to perform the participating performance. Dramatizing situations that occur in life related to the law such as disunity in the village, family conflicts, property disputes, etc. are situations that the teams have created scripts for in connection with the locality and the competing team. Therefore, each member of the participating team must both improve their stage techniques and supplement their knowledge of the law.

Ms. Bui Thi Ha, Chairwoman of Khanh Cuong Commune Women's Union, member of Yen Khanh District Mediator Team said: I am very excited but realize that this is a big responsibility that needs to be done well. The members of the Yen Khanh District Excellent Mediator Competition Team have arranged their work, agreed on time to practice the content of the mediation in the skit as well as have a firm grasp of relevant legal knowledge. Participating in the Competition, we hope to learn and share experiences with the competition teams to gain more knowledge to better support our work as mediators at the grassroots level.

Mediation is one of the very important activities, contributing to maintaining the village spirit and ensuring security and order at the grassroots level. Therefore, improving the quality of mediation is always given special attention and direction by Party committees and authorities at all levels.

Comrade Pham Thanh Duc, Vice Chairman of Khanh Cuong Commune People's Committee (Yen Khanh) said: The commune paid attention to organizing the commune team to represent the district to participate in the contest by arranging human resources, selecting key members to participate, arranging training locations, encouraging team members to spend time practicing, reviewing knowledge, performing staged works to ensure quality through skillful, sympathetic, reasonable mediation, reconciling conflicts in accordance with the provisions of the law while still maintaining solidarity in the family, village and neighborhood relations, strengthening solidarity in the community...

Comrade Le Thi Kim Thoa, Head of the Justice Department of Yen Khanh district, said: Implementing Plan No. 100/KH-UBND dated June 9, 2023 of the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province to organize the 2023 Ninh Binh Provincial Excellent Mediator Competition, the Justice Department of Yen Khanh district advised the District People's Committee to establish a district team to participate in the Competition.

Through the actual survey, it is shown that Khanh Cuong commune is a unit with a good movement in mediation work for many years, with a high rate of successful mediation. Therefore, the District People's Committee has selected the Khanh Cuong commune team to represent the district to participate in the Provincial Excellent Mediator Competition in 2023.

To prepare well for the team to participate in the provincial competition, the District Justice Department has advised the District Law Dissemination Council to support training costs for team members; arrange vehicles and facilities, ensuring conditions for the district team to participate and achieve the highest results.

The district's advantage in participating in the contest is that the district pays great attention to training and professional guidance for the grassroots mediator team at 268 mediation teams, with 1,470 mediators, thereby equipping solid knowledge for mediators to perform mediation tasks at the grassroots level as well as participate in the contest.

In order for the 2023 Provincial Excellent Mediator Competition to be of high quality and effective, the Provincial People's Committee has issued a plan to implement the Competition with the aim of raising awareness of the whole society about the position, role and significance of mediation work at the grassroots level, promoting the strength of the entire political system in mediation work. At the same time, directing departments, branches, People's Committees of districts and cities to seriously implement it.

Accordingly, the participants of the Contest are mediators recognized under the provisions of the Law on Mediation at the grassroots level who have won high prizes at the District-level Excellent Mediator Contest or outstanding mediators selected to represent the district or city to participate in the Provincial Contest.

Each district and city sends 1 team to participate in the contest, consisting of 3 official members and 1 reserve member who is the mediator. The contest team can mobilize up to 5 additional people to participate in supporting roles in the introduction and skit contest. These supporting roles cannot play the role of mediator in the skit contest.

The contest is organized in a dramatized form with 3 parts: Introduction part; Theory part and Short play part. The maximum total score of the 3 parts is 100 points. The score of each part of each team is the average score of the members of the Jury minus the points due to exceeding the time limit (if any). The total score of the team is the total score of the team's parts. Up to this point, the preparation stages for the Provincial Contest from the knowledge question set to handling situations; logistics; awards... have been completed.
