Progress of coastal road project, Cat Tien-Diem Van section: Many positive results

Currently, the investor is urging contractors to speed up construction progress, striving to complete and put this route into use by the second quarter of 2026.

Efforts to overcome difficulties

The coastal road project, Cat Tien - Diem Van section, is 13.5 km long and has a roadbed width of 20.5 m. Nine large-scale bridges will be built on the route, with a total investment of more than VND 2,674 billion; implementation will begin in April 2022 and completion in 2026.

The project is invested by the Provincial Traffic and Civil Project Management Board (BQL), implementing 2 construction packages, with 14 contractors. This is one of the large-scale key traffic projects, passing through many localities; the terrain and construction geological conditions are complex, especially the entire route runs on weak ground.

It is noteworthy that the section from Km1-Km4 has a fast subsidence rate and a large subsidence level. There are even locations that have exceeded the unloading time for a long time, but are still subsident, taking a long time to process.

In that context, the Management Board requires contractors to mobilize human resources, machinery, and materials at the construction site, overcome difficulties, and speed up construction progress. Management Board leaders are regularly present at construction sites to both inspect and urge contractors to perform construction, and support them in resolving arising problems.

Enterprises with needs for advance capital will be met by the Management Board, but must fulfill their commitments, ensuring progress, quality, and aesthetics of the project items.

In particular, arrange technical staff to monitor the speed and level of subsidence on this route, from which to calculate and deploy the wicking method combined with appropriate loading, to ensure the best quality of the project.

Along with that, the Management Board also strengthens the work of checking, controlling volume, cost and determining completed volume to make final payment, both ensuring the disbursement rate of public investment capital and creating motivation for contractors to perform well on the project.

Ensure construction progress

The above solutions have been implemented consistently by the Management Board since the project's inception. The contractors also determined that ensuring good progress and quality of the project would reduce input costs and increase the company's reputation, so they have devoted all their efforts to implementing them. Thanks to consensus and high concentration, the progress of all packages has been guaranteed and exceeded the plan.

As the contractor for the section from Km7+70 to Km13+581, with a total package value of 700 billion VND, up to now, Deo Ca Group Joint Stock Company has poured crushed stone over the entire section and prepared to lay asphalt concrete.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Chung - Project Manager - said: "We received the attention and support of the investor, especially the quick settlement of documents and procedures for payment of completed work volume. That has created great conditions for the enterprise to perform well the construction contract".

Sharing the same spirit and determination, other contractors such as: Construction Joint Stock Company 510, Tan Lap Company Limited, Dai Thien Truong Joint Stock Company, Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company 703, Thuan Duc Construction Company Limited, Dinh Phat Company Limited... are also mobilizing maximum resources, making efforts to construct items and works, meeting the requirements of the investor. Thanks to that, the project progress has been improved day by day, the completed work volume has been paid for more.

Mr. Ngo Anh Tuan - Deputy Director of the Management Board - said that up to now, all bridges and culverts on the route have been completed. The roadbed for soft soil treatment has also been guaranteed; contractors have unloaded 10/13.5 km and are implementing the construction of crushed stone aggregate foundation.

The completed work volume was quickly settled by the Management Board. The provincial budget allocated for the project in 2025 is 291 billion VND, of which 250 billion VND has been disbursed, the remaining amount will be disbursed in this fourth quarter.

The Management Board is currently monitoring the weather conditions at the end of 2025 and will continue to monitor the subsidence to closely monitor the remaining subsidence. It is expected that the asphalt concrete will be laid in early 2026 and the road will be completed in the second quarter of 2026.
