Gia Lai Border Guard supports necessities for border guards of Ratanakiri province

(GLO)- On the afternoon of October 27, at Le Thanh international border gate, the Border Guard Command of Gia Lai province held a ceremony to hand over materials and necessities to the border protection force of Ratanakiri province, Kingdom of Cambodia.

Attending the program were Colonel Tran Tien Hai - Commander of the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard Command; Lieutenant General Ung So Phiep - Director of the Ratanakiri Provincial Police Department; Major General Mui So Phat - Commander of the Ratanakiri Provincial Military Sub-region; Colonel Chan Sa Rin - Deputy Commander of the Ratanakiri Provincial Gendarmerie Command and commanders of Ratanakiri Provincial border protection units.

On this occasion, the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard Command presented the border protection force units of Ratanakiri province with some necessities including: 6 tons of rice, 300 kg of white sugar, 90 boxes of instant noodles, 60 cans of cooking oil and 30 boxes of fish sauce. The total value of the gifts is nearly 200 million VND.

Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Tran Tien Hai, Commander of Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard, expressed his hope that the units would continue to closely coordinate with the authorities and Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard to further strengthen the exchange of information and situations related to the task of border management and protection; promptly combat and effectively prevent all types of crimes on the border, especially drug crimes, human trafficking crimes; violations of border regulations, and illegal entry and exit.

At the same time, step up propaganda work for people on both sides of the border to strictly comply with the Agreement on border management regulations; actively mobilize people to participate in the fight to prevent illegal entry and exit and smuggling across the border; build solidarity and friendship between people on both sides of the border.

On behalf of the border protection units of Ratanakiri province, Lieutenant General Ung So Phiep thanked the Gia Lai Provincial Border Guard for their attention, help and coordination in recent times in all aspects of work, especially in the fight against crime and border protection on the basis of respecting the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of each country.
