Commander of Military Region 5 inspects flood response work in Da Nang

On the afternoon of October 28, the Military Region 5 working delegation led by Lieutenant General Le Ngoc Hai, Commander of Military Region 5, inspected the situation and directed flood response work in Hoi An and Dien Ban wards (Da Nang City).

Also attending were Colonel Tran Huu Ich, Commander of the Da Nang City Military Command and local government leaders.

During the inspection, Lieutenant General Le Ngoc Hai directly surveyed the level of impact and visited the living conditions of people in deeply flooded areas with rapidly rising water. The Commander of Military Region 5 requested the City Military Command to proactively coordinate closely with the forces, organize 24/7 standing troops at key points; deploy mobile rescue vehicles, be ready to promptly evacuate and support people when requested.

Lieutenant General Le Ngoc Hai emphasized that the response work must prioritize ensuring the safety of people's lives and property. Main units and militia and self-defense forces need to stay close to the area, maintain smooth communication, and check areas at risk of landslides or prolonged deep flooding. Officers and soldiers of the city's armed forces must always uphold their sense of responsibility, overcome difficulties, and become a support for people to confidently overcome floods.

At Dien Ban General Hospital area, where many households are being evacuated to avoid deep flooding, Colonel Tran Huu Ich, Commander of Da Nang City Military Command, directly visited, encouraged and presented 1,400 rations, bread, and drinking water to help people overcome this difficult period.
