Under the pouring rain, officers and soldiers of the 575th Brigade's Information Brigade tried to set up equipment to "catch" communication waves to serve the command and operation of flood response of the Military Region 5 Command.
Braving the rain, overcoming the flood, "catching" communication signal in isolated areas
When the flood cut off the only road to Tra My and Tra Leng, the signal soldiers of Brigade 575 (Military Region 5) quietly crossed the forest, climbed slopes, and held out at key points to restore the broken communication network.
Amidst the howling wind and howling rain, the field transmitting and receiving station was set up in the middle of the pouring rain. Under the pouring rain in the western mountainous region of Da Nang City, each hand, trembling with cold, still pressed the button, connected the wire, and "caught" the communication signal. The information soldiers were steadfast in their heart's command: "Timely, accurate, confidential, safe", ensuring smooth communication in all situations.
Implementing the direction of the Military Region 5 Command, Brigade 575 mobilized VSAT mobile communication vehicles to the scene, coordinated with Engineering Brigade 270 to overcome landslides, and ensured information to serve rescue work.
Lieutenant Colonel Dang Thanh Binh, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Brigade, instructed the troops before departure: "The marching route will pass through many landslides, comrades must ensure absolute safety. The task of restoring information is an order, but safety is paramount."
Overcoming cold rain, gusts of wind, wet equipment, and interference, the signal soldiers did not leave their positions, trying to "catch" the signal and restore the signal. While restoring communication, they also transmitted live images from the landslide scene to the Military Region 5 Command to serve the direction and management of flood response.
Amidst the misty flood in the highlands, the information "blood vessels" have been connected, with the will and spirit of "sacrificing oneself for the people".
Brigade 574 works overnight to help people in flooded areas
Not only in the mountainous areas of Tra My and Tra Leng, but also in Xuan Phu commune (Da Nang city), heavy rains in the past few days have caused thousands of houses to be deeply flooded, many areas to be isolated. When the flood rose at night, soldiers of Brigade 574 immediately mobilized with life jackets, rescue boats, flashlights and humanity.
More touchingly, when discovering a family of 9 isolated, hungry and thirsty on Ba Ren bridge, the Brigade's forces quickly approached, brought the whole family to safety, provided food, water and medical care.
In the dark, in the midst of the rushing water, the army boats still tirelessly carried each person, with priority given to the elderly, women, and children, to safety. The officers and soldiers of Brigade 579 also provided food, drinking water, and necessities to isolated households, set up temporary shelters, and encouraged the people to overcome the difficulties with peace of mind.
In the rainy night, the soldiers' flashlights flickered on the water's surface, finding their way to the people. It was the light of faith, of the close relationship between the army and the people in the flood season.

Timely take the elderly and children out of deep, dangerous flooded areas.
"Touch every house, support every person" in the flood-hit areas
In Duy Nghia commune, floodwaters inundated hundreds of houses, and many villages were isolated. On the afternoon of October 28, Division 315 mobilized 29 officers, along with boats ST640, ST450, canoes and necessities to provide support.
Under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Vo Duc Cuong, Deputy Division Commander and Chief of Staff, soldiers and local authorities presented more than 100 boxes of instant noodles, 30 boxes of dried eel, 150 cartons of mineral water, and 300 boxes of meat and fish to the people of An Lac village, Nhon Boi.
The Division’s boats weaved through the whirlpools, delivering food directly to each isolated household. In the vast floodwaters, the soldiers’ uniforms became a solid support, a belief for the people of Duy Nghia to overcome the natural disaster.
Also in the late afternoon of October 28, the rising water level of the Truong River caused Chu Huy Man Street (Tra My Commune) to be flooded more than 1.5 meters deep. Immediately upon receiving the news, the Da Nang City Military Command directed the Tra My Regional Defense Command to mobilize forces and vehicles including canoes and life jackets to quickly approach the scene. Officers and soldiers of the Tra My Regional Defense Command transported more than 250 people and motorbikes through the deep underground area, ensuring absolute safety.
Between the silvery waters of the Vu Gia and Thu Bon rivers, to the downstream areas, in the mountainous areas with severe landslides, or in places where communication lines were completely lost... the soldiers of Military Region 5 still steadfastly stuck to their areas and people, adding to the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the hearts of the people in the flooded areas.

Officers and soldiers of Division 315 went to the flood-hit area of Duy Xuyen to "check every house and support every person".
Military Region 5: Promoting the strength of "4 on-the-spot" - Proactively and promptly respond to and overcome the consequences of natural disasters in the area.
Faced with the complicated developments of floods in the Central region at the end of October, Lieutenant General Le Ngoc Hai, Commander of the Military Region, requested that agencies and units in the entire Military Region thoroughly grasp the "4 on-site" motto, considering this as the foundation for proactive response, minimizing damage and soon restoring people's lives.
The Commander of the Military Region directed units to grasp the weather situation, clearly identify high-risk areas, proactively arrange forces and means, and closely coordinate with local Party committees and authorities. At the same time, strengthen propaganda and mobilization work among the people, raise vigilance, proactively prevent, and absolutely not be passive and surprised in any situation.
Lieutenant General Le Ngoc Hai especially noted that during the mission, units must ensure absolute safety for people and vehicles, especially when performing missions at night, in areas with difficult terrain; proactively stockpile enough food, drinking water, medicine, and logistical equipment for forces directly participating in rescue.
