The Lawyers Association contributes to completing draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress.

(Chinhphu.vn) - On October 29, in Hanoi, the Central Party Committee of the Vietnam Lawyers Association held a conference to collect comments on draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Party.

Attending the Conference were Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Organizations; Mr. Nguyen Khanh Ngoc, Party Committee Secretary, President of the Vietnam Lawyers Association; Mr. Dao Ngoc Chuyen, Vice President of the Vietnam Bar Federation .

Also attending were representatives of the Central Propaganda Department, the Central Mass Mobilization Department, members of the Standing Committee, the Executive Committee of the Central Party Committee of the Vietnam Lawyers Association, and more than 100 party members of the Central Party Committee of the Vietnam Lawyers Association and the Party Cell of the Vietnam Bar Federation.

In his opening speech, Mr. Dao Ngoc Chuyen, Vice President of the Vietnam Bar Federation, said that the Conference was organized to promote democracy, intelligence, and responsibility of the team of jurists and lawyers in perfecting the major orientations of the Party.

"The 14th National Congress of the Party is an important political event for the entire Party, people and army, and has special significance in the country's development process.

The draft documents submitted to the Congress are the crystallization of the Party's wisdom, mettle and strategic vision, demonstrating the Vietnamese people's aspiration to rise up for " peace , independence, democracy, wealth, prosperity, civilization and happiness", the Vice President of the Vietnam Bar Federation emphasized.

At the Conference, delegates focused on discussing and contributing enthusiastic, objective, scientific and practically-based opinions on specific contents: Draft political report of the 13th Party Central Committee at the 14th Party Congress; Draft Action Program of the Party Central Committee to implement the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress; Draft Report summarizing a number of theoretical and practical issues on the socialist-oriented renovation process over the past 40 years in Vietnam; Draft Report summarizing 15 years of implementing the Party Charter (2011-2025) and proposals and directions for supplementing and amending the Party Charter.

The representative of the Vietnam Bar Federation said that for the team of Vietnamese jurists and lawyers, this is not only a political responsibility but also an opportunity to demonstrate their mettle, intelligence and practical experience in the legal field, contributing profound opinions to the cause of building a socialist rule-of-law state, reforming the judiciary and perfecting the legal system.

Suggesting four key issues

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Organizations, highly appreciated the sense of responsibility and professional capacity of the team of jurists and lawyers.

"We hope to receive quality, practical feedback and suggestions from the team of jurists and lawyers. The conference with the participation of legal experts is expected to have in-depth contributions, bearing the unique mark of the legal field," Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc emphasized.

Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc suggested four key groups of issues that need to be focused on for comments.

Firstly, contribute comments on the overall, essential and comprehensive content of the documents from layout, structure to core content.

Second, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the position and role of lawyers and jurists, not only in their professional fields but also as members of the Fatherland Front and mass organizations.

Third, focus on building and perfecting institutions in the socialist rule-of-law state.

Fourth, in-depth discussion on promoting democracy and protecting human rights and civil rights - a core content of the rule of law state.

With a spirit of responsibility, democracy, science and construction, the Conference to collect comments on the draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress is expected to achieve many practical results, making important contributions to the completion of the documents, creating high consensus in society on the eve of the 14th National Party Congress.
