To ensure the completion of 8 rest stop projects on the North-South Expressway, the Vietnam Expressway Administration requires businesses and investors to urgently construct and put them into operation soon.
In a report sent to the National Assembly, the Ministry of Transport said that recently, implementing the Government's direction, the Ministry has approved a network of rest stops on the North-South expressway in the East from Lang Son to Ca Mau with a total of 36 stations.
Up to now, 9 stations have been invested and are being built (6 stations have been put into operation; 1 station is operating on one side, investing on one side; 2 stations are being invested and built).
To serve the essential needs of people while waiting for the rest stops to complete investment and put into operation, the Ministry of Transport has directed agencies and units to organize 8 temporary rest stops along the North-South expressway in the East, where there are no rest stops.
In which: The section from Hanoi to Vinh, in addition to the 2 stations currently being exploited by the investor, arrange 3 temporary stations from Mai Son (Ninh Binh province) to Vinh (Nghe An province); the section from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa province) arranges 5 temporary stations, including 3 temporary stations in the direction of Nha Trang - Ho Chi Minh City and 2 temporary stations in the direction from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang.
For the Cam Lo - La Son route connecting Quang Tri with Thua Thien Hue, which is about 98.3km long, there are currently temporary rest stops at Km64+200 on the left (area 3,600m2) and Km77+800 on the right (area 4,200m2) to ensure rest stops for vehicles participating in traffic on the route.
Progress is slow
However, the Vietnam Expressway Administration informed that reports from Project Management Boards and investors/enterprises at the meeting on October 18 showed that the progress of project implementation is still slow.
To ensure the completion of 8 projects on schedule, the Vietnam Expressway Administration has just issued a document requesting that the stations that have received the land handover have flexible and suitable construction solutions to ensure the goal of putting into operation essential public service works (restrooms, parking lots) according to contract regulations, meeting the urgent needs of the people.
Specifically, for Km205+092 Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Station, the Vietnam Expressway Administration requested TTC Chau Thanh Trading and Service Joint Stock Company to continue to speed up the construction progress, ensuring the completion of essential public service works before the 2025 New Year holiday.
For Station Km329+700 Mai Son - QL45, there is currently enough land to ensure construction, however, the investor (Vietnam National Petroleum Group) has not yet implemented field work, affecting the overall progress of the project.
The Vietnam Expressway Administration requested the group to urgently implement and ensure the completion of essential public service works before the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday.
For stations that have received partial site handover, investors/enterprises are requested to rebuild the project progress based on actual conditions. At the same time, urgently complete procedures, strive to achieve the goal of basically completing essential public service works in the shortest time.
For stations that have not yet been handed over the site, investors/enterprises are requested to coordinate with the Project Management Board and local authorities to focus on resolving difficulties and problems and at the same time research solutions to shorten the progress so that construction can be started immediately once the site is available.
