Tien Lu: Basically completed the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses

Together with other localities in the province, Tien Lu district has recently actively implemented the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area, aiming to help disadvantaged households have solid housing so that they can work with peace of mind. Thereby contributing to the good implementation of social security work.

The family of Mrs. Vu Thi Mui, Toan Tien village, Thien Phien commune (Tien Lu) is excited to live in a new house.

Looking at the small but quite spacious house that has just been completed by the family of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tinh, Diet Phap village, Thien Phien commune (Tien Lu), everyone is happy for the couple. Mrs. Tinh's family has been a poor household in the commune for many years, she herself does not have a stable job, and her husband has a brain disease. For many years, the hospital has been like a second home for the couple as they have to regularly go for examination and treatment whenever the weather changes. A few years ago, her family's house was degraded with peeling walls and a leaky roof, but due to difficult life, the couple lived in that old, dilapidated level 4 house. When receiving financial support from the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses of the province, her family borrowed more to build a new spacious house with an area of about 45 square meters. Mrs. Tinh was moved: During the process of repairing the house, my family always received attention and help from the Party Committee, the government, and local organizations. I deeply thank the Party, the State, and local authorities in the province for helping my wife and I have a solid house to live in peace in our old age.

Nearly 70 years old, but Ms. Hoang Thi Be, An Tao village, Cuong Chinh commune, has never lived in a decent house. These days, she often helps the construction team quickly complete the remaining work to move into the house she has dreamed of for a long time. Ms. Be choked up: When the local government informed me about the support for building a house, I was both happy and worried. A new house is something I never thought of. Seeing the completed house every day, I am very excited. Now I don't have to stay with someone else every time there is a storm, I can live in peace. I would like to thank the Party Committee, authorities at all levels and organizations for their care and help.

Implementing the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the period of 2024 - 2025, Tien Lu district has 301 households of meritorious people, poor households, near-poor households, households of former youth volunteers and other vulnerable groups who need and are eligible for support to build and repair houses. Of which, in 2024, there were 106 households. 100% of households have been handed over houses. The total capital to implement the program is over 60 billion VND, of which the province supports over 10.2 billion VND; the district budget and socialization is over 2.9 billion VND; the support source from Phu My Hung Development Company Limited ( Ho Chi Minh City) is 15 billion VND, the rest is the budget of the households.

In addition to the support funds from the province and district, localities have mobilized and socialized funding sources to provide additional support and give essential items to families. With high determination and great efforts, by April 25, Tien Lu district was one of the earliest districts in the province to basically complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses.

Comrade Nguyen Van Tho, Secretary of Tien Lu District Party Committee, said: The district steering committee has requested relevant units and localities to step up propaganda work, calling for support from organizations, businesses, and philanthropists to create resources to carry out the task of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses. Assign tasks to localities and units to implement the plan. Organize communes and towns to sign commitments and emulation agreements to strive to complete the construction and repair of houses to ensure the set schedule. During the implementation process, ensure publicity and transparency. Thanks to that, the program has been completed on schedule. In the coming time, the district will continue to urge the remaining households to quickly complete the construction, step up propaganda work, call for support from agencies, units, philanthropists, etc. to support households to settle down, contribute to ensuring social security, and create momentum to promote local socio -economic development.
