The 7th Ngoc Linh Ginseng Festival in 2025 with the theme "Ngoc Linh - The Era of Rising" organized by Tra Linh, Tra Tap, Nam Tra My, Tra Van, Tra Leng communes, Da Nang city ended on August 3, with many exciting and practical activities, thereby continuing to affirm and honor the special value of the national treasure Ngoc Linh ginseng.
Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Tra My Commune, Da Nang City, Tran Van Man, said that Ngoc Linh ginseng - Vietnamese ginseng is a rare medicinal herb, considered a treasure of the great forest, not only bringing high economic value but also being a cultural symbol and pride of ethnic minorities in the mountainous region southwest of the city.
The 7th Ngoc Linh Ginseng Festival in 2025 with many practical activities including: Ngoc Linh ginseng and mountainous medicinal herbs fair. Displaying Ngoc Linh ginseng, medicinal herbs, OCOP products, introducing products in the fields of agriculture, forestry, and handicrafts.
Introducing typical products made from Ngoc Linh ginseng, medicinal plants of businesses and establishments. Ngoc Linh ginseng fair attracted more than 2,000 visitors and commercial transactions with revenue of nearly 5.3 billion VND.
At the 7th Ngoc Linh Ginseng Festival in 2025, the Organizing Committee received 105 ginseng plants from 70 ginseng growers participating in the Ngoc Linh ginseng competition. The Organizing Committee selected 48 seedlings from 4 age groups for the final round.
Through the selection, 21 most beautiful ginseng plants were identified to be awarded to the participants. After consulting with the participants, the Organizing Committee did not conduct an auction, but only organized a sale and collected nearly 62 million VND, transferred to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nam Tra My commune to support poor households to build houses.
Especially at the "Ginseng God" worshiping ceremony on the occasion of Ngoc Linh Ginseng Festival this year, there is an additional meaningful program of giving away nearly 7,000 one-year-old ginseng seedlings to 33 disadvantaged households in the communes of Tra Linh, Tra Tap, Nam Tra My, Tra Van, and Tra Leng.
This number of ginseng seeds was contributed by ginseng growers and ginseng growing enterprises in Tra Linh commune, demonstrating the spirit of sharing "For Tra Linh's development, no one is left behind."
Along with the above activities, the Art Program to open the 7th Ngoc Linh Ginseng Festival - 2025 with the theme "Ngoc Linh Soul - Song from the Misty Peak" promotes and honors the image of Ngoc Linh ginseng; thanks Mother Nature for bestowing precious resources; the colorful traditional cultural identity of ethnic minorities.
The organizing committee of the 7th Ngoc Linh Ginseng Festival has launched and introduced the “Legend of Ngoc Linh Ginseng” tour. The tour format is diverse, suitable for young people who love nature and adventure, and the tour itinerary is suitable for the local tourism logistics infrastructure.
There were 5 groups with more than 70 tourists participating in the tours, tourist attractions were exploited such as Ngoc Linh ginseng plantation (Tra Tap commune); Ngoc Linh ginseng temple (Tra Linh commune); Nam Tang waterfall (Nam Tra My commune); Tak Po cloud hunting spot (Tra Tap commune), Da Nang city. In particular, 2 groups connected the tour with tourist attractions such as Da Tang Tea Prong waterfall (Mang Ri commune), Mang Den tourist area, Quang Ngai province.
Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Tra My Commune, Tran Van Man, said that in June 2017, Ngoc Linh ginseng was recognized as a national product and the National Assembly included Ngoc Linh ginseng in the list of key crops in the framework of the national target program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
In particular, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 611/QD-TTg dated June 1, 2023 approving the Vietnam Ginseng Development Program to 2030, with a vision to 2045; in which Ngoc Linh ginseng is identified as a strategic plant, contributing to the socio-economic development of people in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; the profession of growing and processing Ngoc Linh ginseng has been recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage./.
