On November 6, the Provincial People's Committee issued Document No. 9051 on continuing to implement plans for new generation FTAs (CPTPP, EVFTA, UKVFTA) in the province.
In recent times, all levels, sectors and localities in the province have seriously grasped and focused on effectively implementing the policies and directions of the Party and the State on international economic integration; especially the implementation of new-generation Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with comprehensive commitments in many fields, creating conditions to attract investment, promote production and business and develop and expand markets; exploiting incentives to increase revenue and profit in import and export activities.
However, participation in the implementation of FTA agreements in the province still has many limitations. Most enterprises are small in scale, and their initiative in international economic integration is not high; meeting strict standards and technical trade barriers is still a big challenge for the province's exports due to its lower development level than most other member countries of the agreement. The environment for attracting business investment still has some bottlenecks, failing to meet the requirements of international economic integration...
To continue to synchronously implement and effectively exploit new generation FTAs, in the coming time, the Provincial People's Committee requests departments, branches; District and City People's Committees and related units to well perform a number of key tasks.
Based on assigned tasks, continue to direct and guide the implementation of decisions of the Provincial People's Committee on issuing plans to implement agreements.
Continue to promote the dissemination and popularization of contents and policies on FTAs, especially on new generation FTAs that Vietnam has signed such as the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans- Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the European Union (EVFTA), the Vietnam - United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA) for officials, civil servants, public employees, organizations, businesses and people in the province to promptly grasp and apply flexibly and effectively.
Proactively coordinate with central ministries and branches to promptly review, specify, and perfect regulations and support policies to help effectively implement FTAs in practice.
Organize conferences and training courses to disseminate and popularize signed FTAs so that businesses can grasp the regulations for each specific commodity sector and the policy mechanisms related to the implementation of effective FTAs of which Vietnam is a member.
Support exports to learn import and export information related to FTA partners with Vietnam and potential markets, helping businesses change their method of supplying goods, in accordance with the requirements of the market supply chain in the new period; guide export businesses to enjoy tariff incentives of effective FTAs of which Vietnam is a member in the Chinese market, ASEAN markets, Korea, Japan and markets of countries in the Eurasian Economic Union.
