Body of missing man found in shrimp pond

This afternoon (September 16), the leader of the People's Committee of Dam Doi district, Ca Mau province, said that the authorities found the body of a man who went missing while going to the shrimp pond 2 days ago.

According to initial information, at around 5:30 p.m. on September 14, Mr. NTT (63 years old, residing in Thanh Tung commune, Dam Doi district) went to the shrimp pond and discovered a hole in the bank of the pond, 80-100cm in diameter. At this time, the water level in the shrimp pond and outside the canal was nearly 2m different.

When Mr. T. went to the field, his younger sister, Mrs. NNT (61 years old), also followed. Mrs. T. told her brother to wait and not to go down to plug the hole because it was very dangerous. At the same time, she asked her nephew to call someone to help, while she went to get bags and tarpaulin.

About 10 minutes later, Mrs. T. returned but did not see her brother, only his sandals and shirt left on the shore. Suspecting something was wrong, Mrs. T. called everyone to join in the search.

Upon receiving the report, the authorities of Dam Doi district mobilized machinery to dig a square bank right at the location of the hole to search for the victim. At about 8:00 p.m. on September 15, the authorities discovered Mr. T's body sucked into the hole at a depth of about 4 meters below the surface of the square bank.

After many hours of searching, the authorities brought the body of a man who drowned in Xuan Huong Lake in Da Lat City ( Lam Dong ) to shore.
