Dai Doan Ket Newspaper reported: "Aquaculture takes advantage of opportunities from FTAs"
Seafood exports continued to grow in the first months of the year. However, according to experts, in the coming time, seafood exports will face many challenges as import markets introduce more stringent standards. In that context, businesses need to be flexible in approaching new markets...
According to MSc. Phung Thi Van Kieu - Deputy Head of Trade Research Department, Institute for Strategy and Policy Research on Industry and Trade - taking advantage of tariff incentives and market expansion opportunities from FTAs can create a breakthrough for Vietnam's seafood exports.
“New generation FTAs not only bring tax benefits but also require businesses to meet stricter standards on quality, environment, labor and traceability. This requires the Vietnamese seafood industry to have an appropriate adaptation strategy to improve competitiveness and sustainable development,” said Ms. Phung Thi Van Kieu.
Affirming that opportunities from FTAs need to be taken advantage of, especially for pangasius exporting enterprises, the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) said that Vietnam has signed 17 FTAs with many major partners in the world , including new generation FTAs (FTAs) such as CPTPP, EVFTA, UKVFTA. These FTAs bring many benefits to Vietnam, including market expansion, access to advanced technology and improved competitiveness. This is a "passport" that helps pangasius easily penetrate into demanding markets.

Saigon Giai Phong Electronic Page reported: " Dak Lak litchi has a good harvest and good prices".
In late May, people in Ea Sah commune, Ea Kar district, Dak Lak province, were busy harvesting lychees. This year, the weather was favorable, lychees were in season, traders bought them at the garden at a higher price than usual (ranging from 40,000-60,000 VND/kg of lychees), so farmers were extremely excited.
Mr. Van Dinh Thin, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Sar Commune, said that up to now, the total area of lychee in the area is 400 hectares, the output in 2025 is expected to be 5,000 tons of lychee. In particular, the price of lychee this year is about 20-25% higher than previous years, so farmers have made a lot of profit. Thanks to lychee, many households have risen to become rich, stabilized their lives, contributing to hunger eradication, poverty reduction, and economic development of the region.
To increase the value of lychee and create safe products for consumers, the locality organized a conference on linking production and consumption of fresh lychee in 2025, aiming to stimulate the local lychee market and guide farmers to organize production models according to VietGAP standards. The locality also proposed that the authorities orient and expand the market for lychee.
According to statistics from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dak Lak province, the whole province has more than 3,000 hectares of lychee, with more than 1,600 hectares of lychee being harvested, with an output of about 17,000 tons/year. Of which, Ea Kar district is the province's key lychee growing area with more than 1,000 hectares. Dak Lak lychee is mainly consumed in the domestic market and officially exported to the Chinese and Japanese markets.

Tin Tuc newspaper reported: "Stronger measures needed to deal with e-cigarettes"
Despite warnings about the serious consequences and harms that e-cigarettes bring, e-cigarettes are still being used by many people, especially young people. Experts say that stronger solutions are needed to handle violations of e-cigarette trading and use to create deterrence.
Given the consequences caused by e-cigarettes, experts say that banning the production, trading, import, harboring, transporting and using e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products is extremely correct. Inspection and handling of violations need to be implemented more strongly to create deterrence in the community. In addition, there needs to be more extensive and effective propaganda solutions, especially schools need to coordinate with families to raise awareness among young people about the harmful effects of e-cigarettes.
