(Chinhphu.vn) - On the morning of September 10, the Government Electronic Information Portal organized a seminar on "Sustainable development of the electricity sector - Issues raised" to provide information, a multi-faceted, multi-dimensional, and panoramic picture of the electricity price policy; the reasons for the increase in electricity bills; transparency of EVN's losses; solutions to continue to improve the electricity price policy, contributing to promoting economic growth, ensuring social security...

The Prime Minister always emphasizes the requirement and absolute command to ensure "meeting enough electricity demand in all situations".

Vietnam is a developing country, many issues need to be balanced and compensated in the calculation of electricity prices to serve social security goals that are still being applied; the current electricity prices are not yet calculated correctly with the production cost. We are still on the path to correctly and fully calculating the electricity prices in the market economy... Completing the electricity price policy, contributing to promoting economic growth, ensuring enough electricity for production and life is a mandatory requirement, ensuring sustainable development. On the path to perfecting this policy, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is currently building and collecting opinions to amend Decree 72 regulating the mechanism for adjusting average retail electricity prices.
