This will contribute to stimulating domestic consumption and promoting international integration. The event has been identified by the Government as a key activity of the year, expected to create a strong boost for the economy at the end of the year.

An impressive opening and a national strategic vision.

On the evening of October 25, 2025, at the Vietnam National Exhibition Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi ), the opening ceremony of the first Autumn Fair took place under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. The ultimate goal of the event was to promote domestic production and business, boost domestic trade, and expand access to export markets, ushering in a period of deeper integration.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh clearly stated the strategic vision: The first Autumn Fair in 2025 will not only open up new spaces for connection between businesses, consumers, Vietnam and the world , but also be a place for 'the source of creativity – the shining of intellect – exchange and learning – affirming capabilities – spreading pride'. This statement has elevated the Fair to an economic and cultural forum of national significance and reaching international standards.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.

The 2025 Autumn Fair is considered by experts to have achieved "six bests": largest scale, most modern space, most diverse product range, highest quality, most attractive activities, and best preferential policies. According to the official announcement, the total exhibition area exceeds 130,000 m², divided into 5 themed zones, attracting approximately 3,000 booths with the participation of 34 provinces and cities and more than 2,500 domestic and international organizations and businesses.

21st-century economic orientation: Trade, digitalization, and the green economy.

The opening ceremony focused on highlighting the fair's role as a "bridge" in promoting trade and international integration. The Prime Minister emphasized: "This is a very important economic and cultural event, not only on a national scale, but also reaching international levels; contributing to stimulating domestic consumption, spreading the spirit of 'Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods,' and promoting trade, investment, and international integration." This event is expected to help Vietnam realize its ambition of building the country into "Asia's leading exhibition center, a destination for international trade fairs." For the business community, this is a golden opportunity to find partners, exchange technology, expand supply chains, and boost exports.

Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director of the Trade Promotion Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), commented: "The Autumn Fair, with its 'six best' scale, is proof of the Government's determination to build a modern, sustainable trade platform that harmoniously combines domestic and international markets. The Prime Minister's direct guidance sends a strong message about prioritizing the development of the domestic market and global economic integration."

In particular, the development orientation mentioned by the Prime Minister is a key highlight. The fair must be a "bridge" for businesses to receive technology transfer, promote the digital economy, green economy, circular economy, and sharing economy. The Prime Minister emphasized that the event is an important bridge for Vietnamese businesses to strengthen international economic integration, exchange experiences, and receive technology transfer, especially in digital transformation, green economy, circular economy, sharing economy, and knowledge economy. This shows that the Autumn Fair 2025 is expanding into an ecosystem connecting production – consumption – innovation – international integration of the 4.0 era.

Stimulating domestic demand and the challenges of sustainable development.

Besides its role in international trade, the Fair also places a strong emphasis on stimulating domestic consumption and promoting national culture and brands. According to the Organizing Committee, the Fair is not only a major trading hub but also a space to honor Vietnamese cultural values, connecting the best of production, creativity, and integration. People will have the opportunity to experience shopping for "High-Quality Vietnamese Products" while simultaneously enjoying unique cultural, culinary, and artistic programs.

Bringing traditional hand-embroidered products, embodying the essence and culture of Vietnam, to a wider range of domestic consumers and international friends.

From the perspective of a participating business at the Fair, artisan Le Thi Xuan – owner of Xuan Nguyen embroidery workshop – expressed her pride: "Participating in such a large-scale and prestigious event, I feel immense pride in bringing traditional hand-embroidered products, embodying the essence and culture of Vietnam, to a wide range of domestic and international consumers. The Fair is not only a place to sell goods but also a reminder of our responsibility to preserve and develop traditional crafts. We are more aware of the need to continuously improve quality and create innovative designs to sustainably bring Vietnamese handicrafts to the world."

From a business perspective, Mr. Dang Trung Doan - owner of the Dang Gia Agarwood brand (Nha Trang) - commented: "The emphasis on green economy, digitalization, and the circular economy model at the opening ceremony is a very positive sign. As a business owner participating in the event, I am more aware of the need to take advantage of this opportunity not only to sell products, but also to learn, transfer technology, and change production and business models towards greater sustainability. The connection between traditional products and Industry 4.0 technology will be key to enhancing domestic capacity and international competitiveness."

Businesses are well aware of the need to transfer technology and change their production and business models towards greater sustainability.

However, organizing the event for the first time on such a large scale, with its "six best" criteria, also presented numerous challenges, as the Prime Minister noted, given the short preparation time, the large workload, the high demands, and the vast area. These challenges involved coordination among many ministries, departments, and localities, ensuring quality, safety, smooth logistics, as well as effective operation and communication.

According to economic experts, for the Autumn Fair to truly become a sustainable annual platform that generates strong momentum, a long-term plan is needed, aiming towards a series of "four-season fairs – Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter" as outlined in the scenario. Simultaneously, it is essential to ensure seamless connectivity in logistics, transportation, accommodation, security, and consumer experience. Notably, supporting small businesses and cooperatives to participate, creating favorable conditions for them to access technology and international markets, is crucial. Finally, enhancing digitalization and integrating participant experiences with digital applications, big data, and virtual reality experiences will help the 2025 Autumn Fair become a true "fair of the 4.0 era."

With strategic directions from the Government, the Autumn Fair 2025 has successfully made a significant mark, promising a major boost for trade, integration, and promoting the image of Vietnam to the world.
