Tonight, October 28: Dong Nai will have heavy rain

(DN) - On the afternoon of October 28, Dong Nai Hydrometeorological Station forecasted that from the afternoon of October 28 to the evening of October 30, many places in the province will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, and in some places very heavy rain.

Particularly in the northern region of Dong Nai province (including the communes and wards: Dong Xoai, Phuoc Long, Binh Long, Bu Dang, Tan Tien, Chon Thanh, Loc Ninh, Tan Quan, Phu Rieng, Tan Phu, Dinh Quan) there will be moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall of 60-110mm, some places over 110mm (heavy rain concentrated in the afternoon and night).

Rain forecast for the next 24-48 hours.

Director of Dong Nai Hydrometeorological Station Nguyen Phuoc Huy said: The cause of the rain is due to the continental cold high pressure that is strengthening to the South. The low pressure trough with an axis through the South is active. Above, the subtropical high pressure with an axis through the North - North Central region encroaches on the West. The strong easterly wind disturbance above affects the weather in the province.

“We need to guard against the risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas. Beware of heavy rain in a short period of time causing flooding in urban areas, riverside areas, and canals. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind,” Mr. Huy noted.
