Previously, the flood on the Bo River set a new record at 5.25m, while the flood peak in 2020 was 5.24m. The water level on the Huong River is currently at 4.62m, 1.12m above alert level 3. Previously, the flood on the Huong River peaked at 5.05m - the second highest level ever, after the historic flood in 1999 of 5.81m. It is forecasted that in the coming hours, the floods on the rivers will continue to slowly recede; in which the Huong River is still at a very high level, above alert level 3.
Floods on rising rivers have inundated 32 out of 40 communes and wards of Hue city; the average flood level is up to 1 - 2 meters; in some places it is deeper. The communes and wards of Hue city have evacuated and relocated 1,663 households with 4,242 people. The traffic system in many places is deeply flooded and impassable due to landslides.
It is forecasted that by the morning of October 29, there will be heavy rain, very heavy rain in Hue city, and especially heavy rain in mountainous areas; total rainfall will be 250-500mm, with some places over 700mm.
