Due to strong flood water, combined with high tides and big waves, a section of the sea dike in Duy Nghia commune was broken, directly threatening the lives of dozens of households.
After a field inspection, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Quang Nam directed the Duy Nghia Commune authorities to temporarily barricade the area, preventing people from passing through. At the same time, organize temporary traffic, urgently evacuate residents in the affected area, ensuring the highest safety.
The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the 315th Mobile Division to organize forces to support the patching of landslides in the embankment area, in order to temporarily prevent erosion.
In the long term, the Department of Construction will inspect the entire dike system along the Thu Bon River estuary and report to the City People's Committee for a fundamental solution to completely handle the landslide situation; ensuring long-term sustainability, especially during floods.

At around 6am on October 29, people in Duy Nghia commune discovered that a 20m section of the sea dike in the commune at the mouth of the Thu Bon river had been destroyed by large waves.
At this time, the weather was complicated, with heavy rain, strong winds and big waves, along with floodwaters continuously pouring in from upstream, causing the flow to go deep into the mainland. This directly threatened the safety of dozens of households living nearby.

After receiving a request for support from the locality, officers and soldiers of Division 315 (Military Region 5) promptly arrived at the above mentioned sea embankment area to coordinate with local forces and people to focus on reinforcing and patching up the eroded areas.

During the morning, hundreds of bags of sand, rocks and local materials were transported to reinforce the embankment, ensuring safety for people in the area.
