On the morning of August 21, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Hanoi People's Committee coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to hold a press conference to inform about the program "Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City". Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Ha Minh Hai and Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy chaired the press conference.
Event series with many outstanding activities
Providing information at the press conference, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Thi Anh Mai said that the program "Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City" is a series of events to promote the great significance of the Capital Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024) and the 70-year achievements of construction and development of Hanoi. The program will take place from August 23-25.

The program “Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City” is also an opportunity to promote and introduce the unique cultural characteristics and cultural heritage of the thousand-year-old capital Hanoi; the elegant and civilized people of the capital; Hanoi - City for Peace, Creative City.
According to Ms. Le Thi Anh Mai, the series of events will have many outstanding activities, such as: Delegation of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi city visiting Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City Branch, Ton Duc Thang Museum; offering flowers to the statues of Uncle Ho and Uncle Ton; visiting and offering incense at the Cho Quan Hospital Prison Relic - where comrade Tran Phu sacrificed his life.
According to the Organizing Committee, on the evening of August 23, at Nguyen Hue Walking Street (Ho Chi Minh City), the program with the theme "Hanoi's Marks" recreated a vivid picture of the Capital, the historical and cultural values of the thousand-year-old city through documentary films and special art performances. The program had the participation of artists from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. |
The Hanoi delegation met and worked with the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation Day of the Capital; visited and presented gifts to 70 families of policy beneficiaries and outstanding people with meritorious services. In addition, the delegation visited the displays and exhibitions at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum.
Activities within the framework of the program “Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City” include: Opening of “Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City”; exhibition of documentary photos related to the content of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital; special exhibitions such as: Exhibition “Imperial Citadel of Thang Long - Hanoi: Heritage for the Future” held at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum and “Exhibition of the Quintessence of Vietnamese Philosophy”.

The Ho Chi Minh City Museum also displays a version of the Co Loa bronze drum, a meaningful gift from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital.
The program “Promoting and introducing products, combining tourism promotion and linking Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City” also took place at Nguyen Hue Walking Street, with a scale of 10,000m². Outstanding activities included the space “Craft streets, craft villages of Hanoi past and present” with nearly 30 booths displaying traditional craft villages.
Opportunity to give thanks
Commenting on the series of events, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy said that this is a special occasion for Ho Chi Minh City residents to get closer to Hanoi residents. Through this, Ho Chi Minh City residents will understand and love Hanoi more.
The program also creates conditions for the city's youth, those who have been to the capital or have not had the opportunity to visit, to feel Hanoi closer to themselves. Ho Chi Minh City leaders realize that this is also an opportunity for Ho Chi Minh City to show gratitude to the children of Hanoi who are living, working, studying and contributing to the development of the city named after Uncle Ho.

According to Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Ha Minh Hai, the program is not only an opportunity to look back on the glorious historical journey that Hanoi has gone through, but also an opportunity to introduce to the people of Ho Chi Minh City as well as the whole country the cultural and economic values and especially the sentiments of Hanoi people.
“Hanoi City wishes to convey the message and sentiments of the Party Committee, government and people of the Capital to the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasizing the close connection and cooperation between the two major cities of the country.
