(Dan Tri) - On the basis of the good traditional friendship and the newly established Vietnam - Bulgaria strategic partnership, defense relations play an important role in the overall relationship between the two countries.

As part of his official visit to the Republic of Bulgaria from October 22-24, on the morning of October 24 local time, General Secretary To Lam and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation visited the Bulgarian defense industry company Samel-90. He was accompanied by the host country's President Rumen Radev.

Samel-90 Defense Industry Company, headquartered in Samokov, nearly 60km from the capital Sofia, is an electronics-defense enterprise founded in 1964 with the initial mission of providing electronic communication equipment for the Bulgarian Army, later expanding to civilian products.

Today, Samel-90 is considered a typical defense enterprise of Bulgaria in the field of military electronics and communications. Company representatives introduced advanced defense technologies in the fields of radar detection, unmanned aerial vehicle suppression technology, manufacturing unmanned aerial vehicles for communications work, etc.

Here, President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev also directly introduced to General Secretary To Lam about Bulgaria's defense industry, emphasizing the capabilities and key products of the Samel-90 Defense Industry Company.

General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated Bulgaria's defense industry and the capacity of Samel 90 Company with its proven quality products. The General Secretary said that Vietnam advocates building and developing a proactive, self-reliant, dual-purpose and modern defense industry, becoming the spearhead of the national industry to protect independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity; and advocates multilateralization, diversification, equal cooperation and mutual benefit with all partners, including Bulgaria.

On the basis of the good traditional friendship and the newly established Vietnam - Bulgaria strategic partnership, defense relations and defense industry cooperation play an important role in the overall relationship between the two countries. General Secretary To Lam hopes to share experiences, promote defense cooperation in general and defense industry cooperation in particular between the two countries in the coming time; cooperate in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and remote sensing electronic equipment...

With the experience and capacity of Samel-90 Company, the General Secretary suggested that the company exchange and coordinate with agencies and functional units of the Ministry of National Defense and Vietnamese defense enterprises in specific fields, suitable to the needs and capabilities of each side.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the Party, State and Government of Vietnam are ready to support and create conditions for Samel-90 Company and prestigious Bulgarian defense industry enterprises to exchange with Vietnamese defense industry enterprises to introduce products, explore areas of cooperation suitable to the needs and capabilities of the two countries, and participate in displaying products at the International Defense Exhibition in Vietnam.

General Secretary To Lam believes that, on the basis of the Strategic Partnership, defense industry cooperation between the two countries in general, and between Bulgaria's Samel-90 defense industry company and Vietnam's defense industry partners in particular, will have new developments, becoming increasingly more substantial and effective.
