The Ministry of Health awarded certificates of commendation to four female nurses in Nghe An for their bravery in saving a newborn baby.

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - The Ministry of Health has decided to award a certificate of commendation from the Minister of Health to one collective and four individuals of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital for their courageous actions in a critical situation.

Accordingly, the list of recipients of the Minister of Health 's commendation includes: the Neonatal Department as a whole and four individuals, namely Ms. Nguyen Thuy Trang, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai, Ms. Tran Thi Hong, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, all nurses in the Neonatal Department of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.

These individuals acted bravely, intervening and protecting the safety of patients and their families in critical situations.

Earlier, on October 24th, a delegation from the Ministry of Health , led by Dr. Ha Anh Duc, Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management, visited Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. There, Dr. Duc conveyed the Minister's commendation of the victims' courageous spirit, wished them good health, and presented them with gifts of encouragement.

He also stated that Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan had directly instructed the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management to coordinate with the police and local authorities to clarify the incident and strictly punish those who attacked medical staff.

At the same time, the Ministry of Health is reviewing all security measures in hospitals, especially in sensitive areas such as emergency rooms, neonatal wards, and psychiatric wards.

The tragic incident occurred at approximately 10:00 AM on October 23rd in room 304 of the Neonatal Department at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. The perpetrator, Ban Van Vy (born in 1996, from Bac Ninh province, residing in Que Phong commune, Nghe An province), while caring for his wife who had just given birth to twins, suddenly attacked several people in the room with a fruit knife, injuring seven victims.

Among the victims, nurse Nguyen Thuy Trang suffered the most serious injuries with 11 stab wounds, including 4 fatal ones to the neck and chest, hemorrhagic shock, right pleural effusion, and underwent emergency surgery in time.
