Ministry of Health awarded certificates of merit to 4 female nurses in Nghe An who bravely saved a newborn baby

(Dan Tri) - The Ministry of Health has just decided to award certificates of merit from the Minister of Health to 1 group and 4 individuals of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital for their brave actions in an emergency situation.

Accordingly, the list of recipients of certificates of merit from the Minister of Health includes: The collective of the Neonatal Department and 4 individuals: Ms. Nguyen Thuy Trang, Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai, Tran Thi Hong, Nguyen Thi Hong, all nurses of the Neonatal Department, Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.

Individuals have acted bravely, preventing and protecting the safety of patients and their families in emergency situations.

Previously, on October 24, a working delegation of the Ministry of Health led by Dr. Ha Anh Duc, Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management, was present at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. Here, Mr. Duc conveyed the Minister's praise for their brave spirit and wishes for good health to the victims and gave them gifts of encouragement.

He also said that Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan has directly instructed the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management to coordinate with police agencies and local authorities to clarify the incident and strictly handle the person who attacked the medical staff.

At the same time, the Ministry of Health is reviewing all security work in hospitals, especially in sensitive areas such as emergency rooms, neonatal and psychiatric rooms...

The heartbreaking incident occurred at around 10am on October 23rd, in room 304, Neonatal Department, Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. The subject Ban Van Vy (born in 1996, from Bac Ninh , residing in Que Phong commune, Nghe An) while taking care of his wife who had just given birth to twins, suddenly used a fruit knife to attack many people in the room, injuring 7 victims.

Among the victims, nurse Nguyen Thuy Trang suffered the most serious injuries with 11 stab wounds, including 4 fatal wounds in the neck and chest, hemorrhagic shock, right pleural effusion and had to undergo emergency surgery.
