Buon Ma Thuot City: Closing ceremony of gong playing, xoang dance, tinh lute, and then singing classes

On August 10, the Center for Culture, Sports and Tourism of Buon Ma Thuot city held the closing ceremony of the gong playing class, xoang dance class, tinh lute class, and then singing class in 2023.

During nearly 2 summer months, the Center for Culture, Sports and Tourism of Buon Ma Thuot city coordinated with the People's Committees of Ea Tam and Khanh Xuan wards; Ea Tu, Ea Kao, Hoa Khanh, Hoa Phu, Hoa Xuan and Cu Ebur communes to open 5 classes teaching gong playing, xoang dance and Tinh and Then singing for teenagers in the area; including 2 classes teaching bamboo gongs of the Ede people, each class has 25 students; 2 xoang dance classes with 75 students; 1 class teaching Tinh and Then singing with 25 students participating.

Students of the Tinh zither and Then singing classes performed at the closing ceremony.

With the dedication and enthusiasm in teaching of the artisans, the students have mastered the Tinh lute, then singing, playing basic gong songs and dancing xoang dances often used in festivals.

The organizers presented flowers to the lecturers and artists teaching the classes.

This is one of the practical summer activities, through classes to equip students with basic knowledge and practical skills, thereby creating human resources as a foundation for cultural and artistic movements at the grassroots level; at the same time contributing to building awareness and responsibility of the people, especially the young generation in the work of preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic minorities, including the Central Highlands Gong Cultural Space.
