At around 9:00 a.m. on May 9, a neighbor working on the farm next to Mr. Thao's garden called to report that his pepper vines had been stolen.

The pepper plants were cut about 30 - 40 cm above the base. After cutting the pepper vines, the thieves cut off the branches, leaves, young tips and the bottom of the pepper plants , leaving them in the garden, taking only the main stem about 2 m long. According to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thao, with 46 pepper plants stolen, the estimated damage is about 120 million VND (including the cost of fertilizer, seedlings and care).
After the unit received a report about the incident in which Mr. Trinh Dinh Thao's family in village 5 had 46 pepper poles stolen by thieves, initially, Hoa Thang Commune Police established a file, examined the scene, and together with the local security force, grasped the security situation in the locality, checked the subjects, and checked security cameras in the area to track down the subject. At the same time, they coordinated with the Department of Investigation Police on Social Order Crimes ( Dak Lak Provincial Police) to reconstruct the scene of the incident to soon have a conclusion on the case.
